This specification covers rubber tile used for reducing the transmission of vibration from metal plates to water. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Government documents. 2.1.1 Specifications, standards,

In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence, Nothing in this document, however, supersedes

REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials, The tile shall be an assembly of rubber and lead shot having the specified construction, and vulcanized to have the specified properties. The rubber shall be polymerized chloroprene compound

Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the tile shall have the construction and dimensions shown on figure 1. with the base sheet face and the four edges roughened by abrading so that no further pr

    15、ocessing except solvent cleaning and cement application is required for adherence to steel. The cover sheet and the base sheet of the tile shall be made from the same compound, The tile shall be furnished 3.3 Lead shot. The lead shot shall have a specific gravity between 10.9 and 11.4 and a diameter

    16、 between 0.080 and 0.095 inch (number 8 shot). 3.4 Airtirrhtness. The tile shall show no blisters or indication of leakage (see 4.3.1). 3.5 Phvsical DroDerties. The finished item shall meet all the applicable require- 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 ResDonsibilitv for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contrac

    21、t or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of

    22、the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.

    23、1 Resuonsibilitv for comDliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not re

    24、lieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of the manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requiremen

    25、ts, however, this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. 4.2 ualitv conformance insuection. 4.2.1 W. For purposes of sampling, examinations, and tests, a lot shall consist of all the tile

    26、produced in one plant under essentially the same condi- tions, but not to exceed 1000 titles. the lot size, In each case, the number of pieces shall be 4.2.2 SamDline;. 4.2.2.1 SamDline: for visual. dimensional and airtightness examinations. A major defect is a defect that is likely to result in failure or to reduce materially the usability of the unit of product for its int

    29、ended purpose, 4.2.3 SamDlina for tests. Sample tiles shall be taken at random from those selected in 4.2.2.1 in sufficient quantity to conduct the tests specified in 4.3.2.1. 4.2.3.1 Additional rubber samples for test, The manufacturer shall prepare two sheets, each 6 by 6 by 0.080 2 0.010 inch thi

    30、ck, and one slab 4 by 4 by 0.500 inch thick from each lot. These pieces shall be identical in cure and composition to the rubber material in the lot submitted (see 6.3). The tests specified in 4.3.2.2 shall be conducted on these rubber samples. 4.3 Oualitv conformance examinations and tests. 4.3.1 V

    31、isual, dimensional, and airtightness examinations. Each of the samples taken in accordance with 4.2.2.1 shall be subjected to an examination for workmanship, dimensions, tolerances and airtightness. to determine and evaluate defects through visual examination. airtightness shall be conducted as foll
