Conformance inspection shall include the examination of 4.4. 4.4 Examination. Each RAO universal joint shall be examined for compliance with the requirements

43、specified in 3.2 through 3.5. Any redesign or modification of the contractors standard product to comply with specified requirements, or any necessary redesign or modification following failure to meet the specified requirements shall receive particular attention for adequacy and suitability. This e

44、lement of inspection shall encompass all visual examinations and dimensional measurements. Noncompliance with any specified requirements or presence of one or more defects preventing or lessening maximum performance shall constitute cause for rejection. TABLE III. 47、ected to a salt spray test in accordance with ASTM B117. No appreciable corrosion or other damage shall be evident after exposure to the salt spray and the RAO universal joint shall operate smoothly through its entire range of motion. Each axis of the RAO universal joint shall operate freely when mo

In accordance with ASTM B117, the recommended exposure period, in increments of 24 hours, shall be mutually agreed upon by the manufacturer of the RAO universal joint and the procuring activity. 4.5.3 Torsional play. With one joint of the RAO fixed horiz

49、ontally at zero degrees, an initial reading shall be taken with the torque applied to the RAO universal joint as specified in Table II. The torque shall be reversed to obtain the second reading. The torsional play at the circumference of the joint is the angular difference between the two readings and shall not exceed the limits shown in Tab
