6、ble design and perfocmance requirements of Spec- ification MIL- “-945 unless otherwise specified: 3.2.2 Form Factor and Weight - The equipment shall be built into a special waveguide casting closed at one end. The other end shall be terminated in a choke coupling designed for standard connection to
7、a UG-53/U flange coupling cover. The dimensions of the over-all equipment shall not be greater than 23 inches long, 6-7/8 inches wide and 5-1/2 inches thick. The weight shall not be greater than 25 pounds. 3.2.3 or reasonable combinations of service conditions, as specified in Specification MIL- T-9
8、45 except that the requirements specified shall apply only with the temperature range from -40“ to -1.55“ C. Service Conditions - The dummy load shall operate satisfactorily under any of the service conditions, 3.2.4 able servicing or replacement of parts. The life of such parts and parts requiring

10、 - Mechanical and electrical interchangeability shall exist between similar assem- blies, subassemblies, and replaceable parts regardless of the manufacturer or supplier. Interchangeability for the purposes of this paragraph does not mean identity, but requires that a substitution of such like assem
11、- blies, subassemblies, and replaceable parts be easily effected without physical or electrical modifications to any part of the equipment. In the design of the equipment, provisions shall be made for design tolerance to accommodate various components having the limiting dimensions and characteristi
12、cs set forth in the speci- fications or the particular component involved without departure from the specified performance. 3.2.7 quirements of Specification SR- 197. 3.2.8 Performance 3.2.8.1 Voltage Standing Wave Ratio - The load alone shall have a voltage standing wave ratio of 1.10 or less and t
13、he combination of the load and adapter shall have a voltage standing wave ratio of 1.20 or less. 3.2.8.2 Receiver Power - The dummy load shall be capable of receiving and dissipating a maximum average power of at least 600 watts for a period of four hours without the use of forced draft ventilation
14、and maximum peak pulses of at least one megawatt. 3.2.8.3 3.2.9 3.3 Detail Design Requirements 3.3.1 Dummy Load TS-338(*)/UP - The dummy load shall be built into a special wave guide casting carry- ing a series of heat radiating fins. It shall be closed at one end, the other end terminating in a cho
15、ke coup- ling designed for standard connection to a UG-53/U flange coupling cover. Its dimensions shall not be greater than 19 inches long, 6- 7/8 inches wide, and 5- 1/2 inches deep. 3.3.2 Adapter CG-384/UP(4“) - One transmission line, CG-384/UP, shall be furnished as an adapter. This transmission
16、line shall be equivalent to a section of RG-48/U wave guide (BUSHIPS Dwg. No. RE49F211) ter- minated at each end in a UG-53/C flange (ASESA Dwg. No. AS-2000). Operating Life - The equipment shall have a minimum total operating life of 2UOO hours with reason- Fungus and Moisture Treatment - The equip

19、. The discs shall be not less than 1/8-inch thick and the same diameter as the outside diameter of the choke. The discs shall be drilled with not less than four holes to permit solid bolting to the choke. 3.3.4 Bolts, Lockwashers, and Nuts - Eight 1/4-inch diameter bolts, lockwashers, and nuts shall
20、 be sup- plied for connecting the adapter CG-384(4“) to the dummy load and to a waveguide coupling UG-54/U or UG- 200/U (BUSHIPS Dwg. 26、 submitted to the procuring agency for review and approval prior to submission of any models. 4.2.3 Approval of Preproduction Models - Approval of preproduction model shall be by the procuring agency upon satisfactory completion of all tests. No additional models shall be delivered prior to the ap-
27、proval of the preproduction model. Prefabrication of any equipments prior to the approval of the prepro- duction model is. at the contractors own risk. One approved preproduction model will be returned to the contractor for his use in the fabrication and testing of the models to be submitted for acc
28、eptance under the contract The preproduction model shall not be considered as one of the models under the contract; how- ever, it may be reworked by the contractor and submitted for acceptance as a production model. 4.3 Inspection Tests - The contractor shall furnish all models and shall be responsi
29、ble for accomplish- ing the required tests. When inspection is conducted at the contractors plant, all inspection and testing shall be under the supervision of the cognizant Naval Inspector. Contractors not having laboratory testing facilities satisfactory to the Government shall engage the services
30、 of a commercial testing laboratory acceptable to the procuring agency. The contractor shall furnish test reports in duplicate, showing quan- titative results for all tests required by this specificat on, and signed by an authorized representative of the contractor or laboratory as applicable. Accep
31、tance or approval of material during course of manufacture shall in no case be construed as a guaranty of the acceptance of the finished product, Presubmission Tests - Prior to the submission of any models for preproduction testing, the con- 4.3.1 shall be of the followingtwo types: Scope of Inspect

Models submitted for sampling tests shall be selected by the Government inspector and shall first have passed the individual tests. Sampling tests shall be more extensive
34、 than tKe individual tests and may include any of the tests listed under preproduction tests which are deemed necessary by the inspector to determine that production models continue to be equivalent in performance and construction of the approved preproduction models. 4.4 spection testing of product
