SCOPE 1.1 Scope - This specification establishes the requirements fo

REQUIREMENTS 3.1 General requirements 3.1.1 Construction - The Mk 309 Mod O Container shall be manufactured in strict accordance with Bureau of Naval Weapons List of Drawings (LD) 477259 and all documents referenced thereon. 3.1.2 Precedence
7、- In the event of any conflict between applicable documents, the following order of precedence shall be observed : (a) Contract or Purchase Order. (b) This specif icatfon. (c) Applicable drawings of LD 477259. (d) Referenced documents of LD 477259. (e) Other applicable documents as referenced in par
8、agraph 2.1 of this specification. 3.1.3 Preproduction samples - Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order (see 6.2), the preproduction samples of the Container shall be manufactured using the methods and procedures proposed for production. The samples will be tested as specified in Section
9、 4 herein for the purpose of determining that, prior to starting production, the contractors production methods are capable of yielding items that comply with the technical require- ments of the documents noted in 3.1.2. 3.2 Performance requirements and product characteristics Containers covered by

11、andling requirements 3.2.1.1 Rotational drop - There shall be no evidence of structural failure, visible damage, or permanent deformation when each corner of the loaded Container is allowed to fall freely onto a rigid steel or concrete surface from a height of 24 inches as described in 4.4.1. 3.3 Go
12、vernment-loaned property - The Government will furnish the contractor, on a loan basis, dynamically-simulated Wings, Fins, Canards, and Pitot Tube. This equipment will be utilized in testing Containers supplied under this specification (see 6,2). 3.4 No data is required by this specification, or by
13、documents referenced in Section 2.1, unless specified in Che contract or order (see 6.2). 3.5 Workmanship - Workmanship in the fabrication and assembly of Containers shall be of sufficiently high quality to assure that completed equipment will comply with all requirements of this specification. Part
14、icular attention shall be paid to plating, painting, welding, bonding, marking and freedom of parts from burrs and sharp edges. The assembled Containers shall be thoroughly clean of all dirt, chips, and other foreign matter. The standards of workmanship exhibited in any approved prepro- duction samp
15、le, subject to any qualification stated in the Governments notice of approval, shall be determinative of the requirements of the contract relative to workmanship insofar as not specifically covered by applicable specifications. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection - Unle
16、ss otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, ths supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Gove
17、rnment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and service conform to prescribed requirements. Container shall be classified as follows: 4.2 Classification of inspections - Inspection of t
18、he (a) Preproduction inspection (see 4.4). (b) Quality conformance inspection (see 4.5). 19、ple of one (1) Container, manufactured in accordance with 3.1.1 and 3.1.3, shall be subjected to the preproduction tests detailed in 4.4. Acceptance of the preproduction sample shall be based on no defects in the sample, Further production of the Container by the supplier, prior to the approval of t
20、he preproduction sample shall be at the suppliers risk. 4.3.2 Quality conformance inspection sampling - The sampling plans and procedures set forth in Standard MIL-STD-105 shall be used in the determination of acceptability of the Containers inspected as specified in 4.5. 4.3.3 Inspection lot - The
21、number of units in an inspection lot shall be, where practicable, 30 Containers. In no event will an inspection lot exceed 30 units. 4.4 Preproduction inspection - The preproduction sample, after staisfactorily passing the examinations of 4.5.2, shall be subjected to the Rotational Drop Test of 4.4.

Certified inspection data covering the results of preproduction inspections shall be forwarded to the Bureau of Naval Weapons, if required (see 6.2). 4.4.1 Rotational drop test - Each preproduction sample shall be subjected to the following test: The loaded Container shall be supported at one cor
23、ner of its base on a block six inches in height. A 12 inch high block shall be placed under the other corner of the same end of the Container. The lowest point of the opposite end of the Container shall then be raised to a height of 24 inches and allowed to fall freely onto a steel or concrete surfa
24、ce of sufficient mass to absorb the shock without deflection. This test shall be applied to all four corners of the Container. Any evidence of structural failure, visible damage, or permanent deformation to the Container shall be cause for rejection of the preproduction sample. Minor dents, scratche
25、s, or paint flaking are not cause for rejection. 4.5 Quality conformance inspection 4.5.1 Samples shall be selected using the plans and procedures set forth in Standard MIL-STD-105, Inspection Level II. Each Container in the sample shall be examined as required by 4.5.2. An AQL of 2.5 percent for MA
26、JOR Defects and 6.5 percent for MINOR Defects shall be used. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Preservation - Preservation shall be as follows: 5.11 Level A - Not applicable. 5.1.2 Level C - Cleaning, drying and preservation shall be in accordance with the manufacturers commercial prac
28、tice. 5.2 Packing 5.2.1 Level C - All interior pieces and cover latches shall be tightly secured. Two (2) Containers shall be strapped to a pallet for shipment, using steel strapping QQ-S-781, Type I, Class B. 5.3 Marking - In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order, Contai
29、ners shall be marked in accordance with drawing 1878306 of LD 477259 and Standard MIL-STD-129. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use - A Container supplied under this specification is intended for use in the shipment, storage, and stowage of one (i) set of Wings, Fins, Canards and Pitot Tube for the AQM-37A Tar
