    5、ing. This material is used typically for large, semi-structural or exterior body parts that require low warpage and good long term dimensional stability. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the requirements for material, finished part properties, dimensional tolerances, surface finish, prime paint a

    6、nd quality control procedures. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. The following specifications and standards are referenced in this specification. Quality System Standard QS-9000 (ISO 9001) ASTM D256 INTERNATIONAL IQR Quality

I ASTM D792 INTERNATIONAL CEMS G-5,Pt. II ASTM D2584 INTERNATIONAL TMS-9008 FMVSS #302 INTERNATIONAL TMS-9544 4.0 MATERIAL REQUIREMENT

    8、S The material used in parts purchased to this specification shall meet the dry-as-molded (DAM) property requirements shown in Table 1. 4.1 Finished Part Requirements The suffix letters shown below describe additional molded part requirements. NOTE: The use of suffix letters is an addition to this s

    9、pecification. Drawings released prior to November 1, 1987, did not contain this provision and should be construed to include the following suffix requirements denoted by an asterisk (*).     11、 color shall be specified on the drawing per designation system in CEMS G-5 Part I. The pigment shall be evenly dispersed to insure uniform coloring throughout the part. D2 Paint color shall be specified on the drawing per designation system in CEMS G-5 Part I. The painted part shall meet the perfor

    12、mance requirements of TMS-9008. D3* Parts shall be prime painted with one of the approved primers listed below, and the primed parts shall be cured as noted. A minimum of 25 m (1.0 mil) of dry film shall be required on all primed parts. The quality of the primer material and application shall be the

    13、 responsibility of the supplier. Primed parts shall be compatible with the paint finishing operations employed by the using International plant and shall be of such quality as to allow finishing top coats to meet the dry film requirements for adhesion, gloss and durability of the appropriate grade o

    14、f top coat specified as per CEMS G-5 Part II. A minimum conductivity reading of 110 on the Ransburg Model 236 sprayability meter shall be obtained on the primed surface after it returns to room temperature. Approved Primers: Sherwin Williams E67BB11, Cured At 93C (200F) for 25 min. BASF U04AD039, cu

    15、red at 135C (275F) for 25 min. AKZO 4BME-41828, cured at 120C (250F) for 30 minutes. 4.1.2 E - Surface Finish Requirements shall be noted as follows, and shall be as follows, and shall compare to finishes found in the SPI-SPE Mold Finish Comparison Kit (D-M-E Corporation): E1 No. 1 - 8000 Grit (#3 M

    16、icron Range) E2 No. 2 - 1200 Grit (#15 Micron Range) E3 No. 3 - 320 Emery Cloth E4 No. 4 - 280 Stone E5 No. 5 - 240 Dry Blast, 127 mm at 690 kPa (5 in distance at 100 psi) E6 No. 6 - 24 Grit Dry Blast, 76 mm at 690 kPa (3 in distance at 100 psi) E9* The surface quality of the molded parts shall be s

    17、uch that, after painting, the finish is equivalent to that of painted sheet metal. There shall be no visible waviness or other defects. 4.1.3 F - Flame Resistance Material and parts supplied to this specification shall conform to and be certified by the supplier to meet the requirements of the Feder

    18、al Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302 - Flammability of Interior Materials and all requirements of TMS-9544. 4.1.4 I - Impact Performance* The dry-as-molded parts shall have an average Gardner Impact value of no less than 2.25 J (20 in-lbf) when tested per CEMS DT-4 on the areas designated on the

    19、 part drawing. After conditioning for 30 days at 23C (74F) and 50% relative humidity, the parts shall exhibit an average impact value of no less than 3.39 J (30 in-lbf) in the areas designated. The average impact value shall be obtained from no less than five (5) drops at least 75 mm (3 in) apart in

    20、 the designated impact area. AUGUST 2001 Page 3 of 4 4.1.5 V - Relative Viscosity* Sample material taken from molded parts shall be granulated and dried at 80C (175F) for 16 hours in a vacuum oven under a small N2atmosphere. The relative viscosity value sha

    22、ll be obtained using the methods described in ASTM D-789. Material Method Relative Viscosity Allied Capron 8267G-HS Pipet Viscometer 50 minimum 4.1.6 Special Requirements Special requirements shall be noted on the drawing. 4.2 Regrind All parts must contain a minimum of 80% virgin material. 5.0 QUAL

    23、ITY The parts shall be free from gate marks on visible “on-truck“ surfaces. No flash is permitted in mounting holes or on “visible“ surfaces. Prime painted parts shall pass a wipe with a cloth moistened with xylene. The cloth shall exhibit only a slight transfer of primer to the cloth after rubbing

    24、the primed surface six times up and six times down over an area 75 mm (3 in) in length. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements Suppliers must conform to the requirements of the International IQR Quality Standard which includes conformance to the QS-9000 (ISO 9001) Quality

    25、System Standard. A mutually acceptable Quality Control Plan as described therein is required for source approval to the requirements of this specification. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples

    26、which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineeri

    27、ng at TDTC and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted wi

    28、th the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required prope

    29、rties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using International plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products.     31、Loading, packing and identification shall be in accordance with Manufacturing Std. D-13. 8.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS Part drawings shall refer to the basic TMS (7102) and must also include the pertinent suffixes. Example: Material and Finish per TMS-7102, D1, E3, Z1 Color to match_per CEMS G-5, Part
