、 solvent borne general purpose corrosion inhibitor used to prevent corrosion of machined and unpainted parts during outdoor exposure. It is also used extensively to inhibit galvanic corrosion between steel and aluminum surfaces in contact. This type of material is specified in Parts Lists F100011133
、 and R100011133. Type I material requires a one hour drying time. When shorter drying times are anticipated Type III material is used in place of Type I. A.2 Type II material is used for fasteners. It provides a torque-tension relationship similar to phosphated and oiled fasteners. The Type II mater
、ial is used to inhibit galvanic corrosion between steel fasteners in contact with aluminum parts. Its use is also specified in Parts Lists F100011133 and R100011133. A.3 Type III material is a faster drying version of Type I and used in similar applications when the need for shorter drying times are
、 anticipated. A.4 Types I, II and III materials are similar and substitution of one of these types for another is permissible. However, the using International facility is responsible to select product suitable for the intended application and to insure that all requirements of this specification ar
、e satisfied. A.5 Type IV is a pigmented (black) corrosion inhibitor used as a primer on springs and other unpainted parts. Its use is specified on suspension springs in MPAPS A-1037 and MPAPS A-1044. A.6 Type V is a special surface corrosion inhibitor used in wheel assemblies. Its use is specified i
