4、0 APPLICATION This specification covers synthetic fastener tapes or pads used for truck cab interiors. Various styles of fastener systems are available and attachment may be achieved by sewing, mechanically, or by adhesive coatings. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the general requirements for co
5、lor, roll length where applicable, adhesive backing if required, and colorfastness. Also included are the individual characteristics for one style (I) of tape. Other styles may be added to this specification if required. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product suppl
6、ied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. 10、ble (Grade A and B) with varying hook size and number of hooks per unit of area. 11、 material originally approved and on file in the Master Fabric Book in the Navistar Industrial Design Department. 4.4 Roll Length (where applicable) Materials shall be supplied in 22, 45, or 90 m (25, 50, or 100 yd) rolls unless otherwise agreed upon by the supplier and using Navistar facility. 4.5
12、Adhesive Backing Adhesive backing, if required, shall be suitable for the intended application, providing adhesion to the substrate which exceeds the disengagement force of the fastener system. 4.6 Colorfastness: AATCC Test Method 8 Crocking test, performed both wet and dry, shall show no applicable
13、 staining of the contact fabric and have a minimum AATCC rating of four (4) when compared with the AATCC Color Transference Evaluation Chart. 4.7 Property And Performance Requirements 4.7.1 Tensile (Breaking) Strength: ASTM D 1682 The tensile strength of the individual tapes shall be as indicated in

15、he following tests shall be performed on tape assemblies using the standard pile tape in combination with the two grades of hook tape. DECEMBER 2016 Page 3 of 5 4.7.2.1 Shear Strength (Lap Shear) Using an overlap of 76 mm (3 in), the shear strength shall be as follows: 4.7.2.1.1 Grade A Hook - 35 kPa (5 lbf/in) minimum 4
17、.7.2.1.2 Grade B Hook - 41 kPa (6 lbf/in) minimum 4.7.2.1.3 Rate of loading shall be 30 cm (12 in) per minute. 4.7.2.2 Lengthwise Peel Strength 4.7.2.2.1 Grade A Hook - 13 N/100 mm (0.75 lbf/in) width, minimum 4.7.2.2.2 Grade B Hook - 7 N/100 mm (0.40 lbf/in) width, minimum 4.7.2.2.3 Rate of loading
18、 shall be 30 cm (12 in) per minute. 4.7.3.3 Latching Strength Samples of the hook and pile tapes shall be affixed by adhesive to metal plates to form a sandwich consisting of the two plates with the tapes in contact with each other. The latching strength (force per unit area of tape contact) shall b
19、e determined by pulling in a direction perpendicular to the metal plates. 4.7.3.3.1 Grade A Hook - 35 kPa (5 psi) minimum 4.7.3.3.2 Grade B Hook - 28 kPa (4 psi) minimum 5.0 QUALIFICATION Material and processes submitted for approval to this specification shall include the following: 5.1 A detailed,
20、 signed test report documenting testing to this specification per MPAPS P-9543. 5.2 Test coupons or photographs showing failure modes for each test. 5.3 The complete procedure used for preparing and curing materials for test, especially surface preparation and condition of the test specimens. 5.4 Qu

22、 defects harmful to product performance. 7.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 7.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to Navistar are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. Navistar will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIA
23、G PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Navistar Corporate Buyer upon request. 25、tracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, co
26、nstruction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering, Truck Development and Technology Center, and Navistar Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification
27、, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 7.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and/or report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using
28、 ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using Navistar p
29、lant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 8.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Loading, packing, and identification shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Supplier Packing and Shipping Standard D-13. 9.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS Shall include the color, width, styl

35、many styles of fastening systems are available, including variations in the attachment and/or the material (yarn). A.1 The methods of attachment of these fasteners are numerous, including sewing, use of pressure sensitive adhesives, solvent activated adhesives, heat activated adhesives, or by mechan
36、ical means. Selection of the particular attachment system is dependent upon the design or application, the substrate, and the intended means of application of the parts being attached. A.2 Since the adhesive systems vary considerably in their applicability to varying situations, it is extremely impo
37、rtant that they be selected with care, and the use of parts already in the system in other applications be done only after careful consideration of the adhesive package.
