4、LICATION This specification covers a power steering fluid used for factory fill in all trucks and school buses that use Ross and Sheppard, or TRW/Bosch, steering systems (Navistar Bulk P/N 2643472R2). 15W-40 engine oil (PN 3814727R1 per MPAPS B-21) may also be used in the Heavy Duty application. All
5、 trucks and school buses may also use Dexron III type ATF (P/N 6133055R1 per MPAPS B-6822). All fluids used in the steering system must pass 4.2 Steering Test via recommendation from all applicable component suppliers. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the physical and chemical properties for a mo
6、dified ISO grade 46 hydraulic fluid suitable for use in power steering systems. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unle

Sheppard Company, Bosch Braking Systems, and Ixetic and/or approved Navistar steering gear and pump manufactures. 5.0 QUALIFICATION Engineering qualification of so
16、urces is required in advance of production shipments. Samples shall be accompanied by test data certifying that all requirements of the specification have been met. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to Navistar are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Q
17、uality System Requirements. Navistar will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish cop
18、ies of registration certificates to their Navistar Corporate Buyer upon request. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples, which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or process
19、ing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes occur in material properties, processing practices, or labeling, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirem
20、ents of this specification, test samples, and new/amended/updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Section 1910, shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either: 1) Perform and report results of tests on specific lot
21、s of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or 2) Provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the quality control manager of the relevant NAVISTAR
22、plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING AND HANDLING Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Supplier Packing and Shipping Standard D-13. Parts shall be packaged so as to avoid any damage in shipment detrimental to the appear
23、ance of the part.
