    6、fine the Intelligent Network (IN) Application Protocol (INAP) for IN Capability Set 3 (IN CS-3). ITU-T Q.1238.x-series Recommendations define the INAP for IN CS-3 based upon IN CS-2 4.1224 and 4.1228 specifications (1997), and the general rules for INAP provided in ITU-T 4.1208, and is consistent wi

    7、th the scope of IN CS-3 as defined in In addition to the features supporting IN CS-1 and IN CS-2 functionalities, ITU-T 4.1238 provides: ITU-T 4.1231. general extensions to the CS-2 INAP in support of IN CS-3 target services; protocol support for Call Party Handling capabilities; 0 b protocol suppor

    8、t for the Service Control Function (SCF) to SCF and Service Data Function (SDF) to SDF functional relationships to support distributed service logic execution and distributed data functions; related interactions between users and the SCF; protocol support for the Call Unrelated Service Function (CUS

    9、F) to SCF to support non-call additional details on services assumed from lower layers and generic interface security; SDLs for SSF related procedure handling based upon Z. 100 object oriented Specification b and Description Language (SDL). Within the ITU-T Q. 123x-series Recommendations, ITU-T Q. 1

    10、23 8.x-series Recommendations describe the protocol realizing the 4.1231 Distributed Functional Plane (DFP) in a service and vendor implementation independent manner, as constrained by the capabilities of the embedded base of network technology. This provides the flexibility to allocate distributed

    11、functionality into multiple physical network configurations and to evolve IN from IN CS-3 to some future CS-N. ITU-T Q. 1238.x-series Recommendations describe the Intelligent Network modelling of each Functional Entity (FE) and their relationships as defined as part of the DFP. It also defines the I

    12、NAP (Intelligent Network Application Protocol) required for the communication of functional entities when they are located in different physical entities. Intelligent Network Capability Set 3 (IN CS-3) supports the following functional entities: - Service switching function (SSF); - Service control

    13、function (SCF); - Specialized resource function (SRF); - Service data function (SDF); - - Service Management Function (SMF). Call unrelated service function (CUSF); ITU-T Q.1238.1 (06/2000) 1 Each of the interfaces defined between the functional entities is defined in a separate Recommendation in IT

    14、U-T Q. 1238.x series: ITU-T Q. 1238.1 Describes the Common Aspects of IN including an overview of each FE. It also describes aspects of the protocol that are common to all interfaces, including services assumed from lower layers, IN security information and the common data types used on all the inte

The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of ITU. ITU-T is responsible for studyin

    18、g technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T study group

    19、s which, in turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of ITU-T Recommendations is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS

    20、0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency.
