It is the third ed

    9、ition of ANSI/ISA-60079-6 and the third edition of ANSI/UL 60079-6. ANSI/ISA-60079-6 and ANSI/UL 60079-6 contain identical requirements, and identical publication dates. The presentation and format of the standards material may differ between the two published standards. This common Standard was pre

    10、pared by the International Society of Automation (ISA) and Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL). Although the intended primary application of this Standard is stated in its Scope, it is important to note that it remains the responsibility of the users of the Standard to judge its suitability for the

    11、ir particular purpose. Level of harmonization This standard adopts the IEC text with deviations. The requirements are presented in different formats. The ISA version of the standard illustrates the national differences from the IEC text through the use of legislative text (strike-out and underline).

    12、 The UL version of the standard illustrates national differences immediately following the IEC text. National differences between the UL version and the ISA version shall be word for word except for editorial changes. Interpretations The interpretation by the SDO of an identical or equivalent standa

    13、rd shall be based on the literal text to determine compliance with the standard in accordance with the procedural rules of the SDO. If more than one interpretation of the literal text has been identified, a revision shall be proposed as soon as possible to each of the SDOs to more accurately reflect

    23、79-6 17 1 Scope This standard part of IEC 60079 specifies the requirements for the construction and testing of oil-immersed electrical equipment, oil-immersed parts of electrical equipment and Ex components in the type of protection oil immersion “o“, intended for use in explosive gas atmospheres. N

    24、OTE Type of protection oil immersion “o” provides equipment protection level (EPL) Gb. For further information, see Annex A. This standard supplements and modifies the general requirements of ANSI/ISA-60079-0 IEC 60079-0. Where a requirement of this standard conflicts with a requirement of ANSI/ISA-

    25、60079-0 IEC 60079-0, the requirement of this standard takes precedence. This standard is applicable to electrical equipment, parts of electrical equipment, and Ex components which, in the absence of oil immersion, are not ignition capable in normal operation as determined by ANSI/ISA-60079-15 IEC 60

NOTE Additional definitions applicable to explosive atmospheres can be found in IEC 60050-426. 3.1 oil immersion “o“ type of protection in which the electrical equipment or parts of the electrical equipment are immersed in a protective liquid in such a w

    29、ay that an explosive gas atmosphere which may be above the liquid or outside the enclosure cannot be ignited 3.2 protective liquid mineral oil conforming to IEC 60296, ASTM D3487, or an alternative liquid meeting the requirements of 4.2 3.3 sealed equipment equipment designed and constructed in such

    30、 a manner as to prevent ingress of an external atmosphere during the expansion and contraction of the internally contained liquid during normal operation, for example, by means of an expansion vessel 3.4 non-sealed equipment equipment designed and constructed in such a manner as to allow the ingress

    31、 and egress of an external atmosphere during the expansion and contraction of the internally contained fluid during normal operation 22 November 2013 ANSI/ISA-60079-6 ANSI/UL 60079-6 19 3.5 maximum permissible protective liquid level maximum level that the protective liquid can attain in normal serv

    32、ice, taking into account the effects of expansion from the worst-case filling condition specified by the manufacturer to the condition of full load at maximum ambient temperature for which the equipment is designed 3.6 minimum permissible protective liquid level minimum level that the protective liq

    33、uid can attain in normal service taking into account the effects of contraction from the worst-case filling condition to the condition of de-energization at minimum ambient temperature 4 Constructional requirements 4.1 General Electrical circuits and components intended to be immersed in the oil sha

    34、ll not be ignition capable in normal operation in accordance with ANSI/ISA-60079-15 IEC 60079-15 or ANSI/ISA-60079-11 IEC 60079-11, with group I equipment required to meet the requirements for group IIA in IEC 60079-15. The enclosure of oil immersed “o” equipment shall be in accordance with ANSI/ISA

    35、-60079-0 IEC 60079-0. 4.2 Protective liquid Protective liquid other than mineral oil conforming to IEC 60296 or ASTM D3487 shall comply with all of the following requirements: a) the protective liquid shall have a fire point of 300 C (minimum) determined by the test method indicated in IEC 60836; b)

    36、 the protective liquid shall have a flash-point (closed) of 200 C (minimum) determined in accordance with ISO 2719; c) the protective liquid shall have a kinematic viscosity of 100 cSt (maximum) at 25 C determined in accordance with ISO 3104; d) the protective liquid shall have an electrical breakdo

    37、wn strength of 27 kV (minimum) determined in accordance with IEC 60156. In the case of silicone liquids, IEC 60836 shall be used; e) the protective liquid shall have a volume resistivity at 25 C of 1 1012 m (minimum) determined in accordance with IEC 60247; f) the pour point shall be 30 C (maximum)

    38、determined in accordance with ISO 3016; g) the acidity (neutralization value) shall be 0,03 mg KOH/g (maximum) determined in accordance with IEC 60588-2; NOTE The reference to IEC 60588-2 identifies a test method only; it does not allow the use of substances prohibited by legislation. h) the protect

    39、ive liquid shall have no adverse effect on the properties of materials with which it is in contact. The manufacturer shall prepare documentation showing compliance with the above. 4.3 Group I equipment For group I equipment, mineral oils are not acceptable. 20 ANSI/ISA-60079-6 ANSI/UL 60079-6 22 Nov

    40、ember 2013 4.4 Deterioration of the protective liquid The equipment shall be constructed so that deterioration of the protective liquid by dust or humidity from the exterior is prevented by the following means. Equipment which is sealed shall be provided with a pressure-relief device. This device sh

    41、all be set and sealed by the manufacturer of the liquid-filled equipment to operate at least at 1,1 times the pressure above the liquid level at the maximum permissible protective liquid level. The equipment shall have a degree of protection of at least IP66 as given in IEC 60529 with no ingress of

    42、water. At the end of any water ingress tests, no water shall be visible inside the enclosure. Equipment which is not sealed shall be constructed so that gas or vapour which may evolve from the protective liquid in normal service can readily escape. A breathing device complete with suitable drying ag

    43、ent shall be provided. The manufacturer shall specify the maintenance requirements for the drying agent. The outlet of the breathing device for non-sealed equipment and the outlet of the pressure relief device for sealed equipment shall have a degree of protection of at least IP23 as given in IEC 60

    44、529. 4.5 Guarding of fasteners Means shall be provided to guard against accidental loosening of external and internal fasteners, as well as of devices to indicate the liquid level, plugs and other parts for filling or draining the liquid. Examples of means to guard against accidental loosening inclu

    45、de: cementing of threads; locking washers; wiring of bolt heads. A warning label is not considered sufficient. 4.6 Protective level indication 4.6.1 Indicating devices A protective liquid level indicating device(s) complying with the requirements of 4.6.2 to 4.6.3 shall be provided so that the liqui

    46、d level of each separate liquid-filled compartment can be easily checked in service. 4.6.2 Marking The maximum and the minimum protective liquid levels permissible in normal service shall be marked per Clause 6, item c), taking into account the effects of expansion and contraction resulting from ope

    47、rational temperature changes over the full ambient temperature range specified by the manufacturer. 4.6.3 Construction The construction shall be such that, unless the manufacturer can demonstrate that in normal service, leakage from the indicating device will not occur, the minimum possible filling

    48、level of the protective liquid cannot fall beneath the level necessary to comply with 4.8, taking into account the effects of expansion and contraction resulting from operational temperature changes over the full ambient temperature range specified by the manufacturer. 22 November 2013 ANSI/ISA-6007

    49、9-6 ANSI/UL 60079-6 21 The documentation prepared by the manufacturer shall show that transparent parts will continue to provide the necessary mechanical and optical properties when in contact with the protective liquid. For non-sealed equipment, a dipstick may be used, provided that in normal operation the dipstick is secured in its measurement position and that the requirements of 4.4 with regard to ingress protection are maintained. An adjacent marking shall be provided in accordance with Clause 6, item d). 4.7 Limiting
