    4、, Bus Floor, Floor, Plywood 1.0 APPLICATIONThis specification covers non-blooming, low migration vinyl or rubber mats used in school bus floor systems and step tread. See TMS-7135 for plywood requirements and TMS-6931 for bonding requirements. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the general requirem

    5、ents, property and performance requirements, quality, quality control requirements, source approval and quality control. 2.1 Restricted Chemical SubstancesEffective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 spec

    6、ification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply.     8、3 SAE J861 ASTM D 3163 CEMS B-50 4.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Material Requirements 4.1.1 Mat: The base material shall be either rubber or vinyl with fibers or films added for dimensional stability and aesthetic content. Mats shall have a flat, smooth backing that is ready for bonding and shall be c

    9、ompatible with adhesive requirements of TMS-6931. In some cases, the back may be sanded or treated to improve adhesive performance. Table 1 lists the base material requirements.     15、.2 Step Treads: Step tread shall consist of a mat bonded to a carrier. The mat shall meet the requirements of 4.1.1. The carrier shall be metal or plastic. All materials and coatings shall be compatible with any adhesives used in the assembly plant. 4.1.2.1 Metal: Metal backing will be steel, Grade

    16、1, per CEMS A-6, Part I, unless otherwise specified. 4.1.2.2 Paint: Metal parts shall be painted to meet TMS-9009 Class II. 4.1.2.3 Plastic: PVC per ASTM D1784 Class 16354 4.2 Dimensions4.2.1 Base Stock Thickness Shall be either 2.8 0.13 mm or 3.6 0.13 mm thick. as specified on the engineering print

    20、ce. 4.3 Appearance Color, grain and finish shall match standard samples approved by Industrial Design at TDTC. 4.4 Property and Performance RequirementsAll mat materials supplied to this specification shall meet the requirements shown in Table 1 or Table 2 as appropriate, and in addition shall meet

    21、requirements listed below. 4.4.1 Ultraviolet Weathering: CEMS GT-31 Method E This requirement replaces staining and fadeometer requirements described in SAE J80. 4.4.1.1 Method: Expose separate sets of samples to 100 and 500 hours continuous QUV-A fluorescent light at 40 C. 4.4.1.2 Required: There s

    22、hall no sign of visible color alteration (color change greater than E of 3), plasticizer migration, delamination, tackiness, bloom or decreased pliability after 100 hours exposure. Report 500 hour results; these samples shall be measured and reviewed for acceptability by the Bus Vehicle Center, Indu

    23、strial Design and Materials Engineering. 4.4.2 Abrasion Test: SAE J80, Rotary Platform Double Head Method 4.4.2.1 Method: Expose for 1000 cycles using 1000g load with CS-17 abrasion wheels 4.4.2.2 Required: Must meet the criteria of SAE J80 and the material wear pattern and color variation must be v

    24、erified and approved by Materials Engineering, Truck Development and Technology Center. 4.4.3 Mildew Resistance: AATCC Method 30 Shall not exhibit any objectionable odor or growth of mildew. 4.4.4 Colorfastness to Rubbing: 4.4.4.1 Method: Perform crocking test dry, wet, and 100% petroleum naptha per

    25、 SAE J861. 4.4.4.2 Required: Minimum AATCC Rating of 4. 4.4.5 Colorfastness to Cleaning: 4.4.5.1 Method: Test per CEMS DT-12 Method A for interior materials. 4.4.5.2 Required: Minimum AATCC Rating of 4. 4.4.6 Flammability Material and parts supplied to this specification shall conform to and be cert

    26、ified by the supplier to meet the requirements of the latest issue of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard #302 - Flammability of Interior Materials (CFR 49, Part 571.302) and the requirements of TMS-9544.     28、ds. Suppliers are required to assume all patent liability. 2008 by Navistar, Inc. 4.5 Property and Performance Requirements for Adhesives See TMS-6931 for adhesion requirements. Pre-bonded assemblies shall meet the performance requirements of that specification. 4.5.1 Compatibility Adhesives must be

    29、 compatible with all floor materials including resistance to plasticizer migration and must be compatible with the assembly processes in place at the using plant. 4.5.2 Swell Adhesive must not induce more than 5% swelling of rubber or vinyl floor mat materials. 5.0 QUALITY Workmanship and finish sha

    30、ll be such as to provide a mat with clean surface, neatly trimmed edges, all holes free from slugs, and made in conformance with good manufacturing practices. Material supplied shall be free from objectionable odor, be of uniform quality, and shall match the pattern, color, finish, and texture of pr

    31、e production approved samples on file in the NAVISTAR Truck Development and Technology Center (TDTC) Industrial Design Department. Pre-production samples of material sufficient for complete test and evaluation should be submitted to TDTC Materials Engineering for approval. 5.1 Qualification Material

    32、s and processes submitted for approval to this specification shall include the following: 5.1.1 Report: A detailed and signed report documenting testing to this specification prepared as per TMS-9543. The report will include actual test data and not merely test summaries. 5.1.2 Failure Modes: Test s

    33、amples or photographs showing failure modes for each destructive test 5.1.3 Test Procedure: The procedures used for preparing and testing material. 5.1.4 Analysis: A detailed analysis of the test results including assumptions made, unexpected results and an explanation of any non-compliant results.

    34、5.1.5 Material: Pre-production material sufficient for complete test and evaluation by NAVISTAR. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 regis

    35、tration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon reque

    36、st. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples, which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in ma

    37、terial, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering, TDTC and NAVISTAR Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this speci

    38、fication, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change.     40、ed to assume all patent liability. 2008 by Navistar, Inc. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statisti

    41、cal control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Shi

    42、pping and identification shall be in accordance with Manufacturing Standard MS-D-13. 8.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGSAll new drawings shall indicate the mass and other pertinent information necessary to describe the color, grain, finish or other description of the finished mat, along with reference to th
