After testing, one spe

After vacuuming the remaining two specimens, the retained lint observed is reported using an arbitrary rating scale. 4.1 Preparation. 4.1.1 Unless otherwise specified in the relevant material specification, conditioning shall be performed according to GMW3221 Code

11、 A. Condition test specimens and the cork liners. 4.1.2 Cut four test specimens each 105 1 mm by 105 1 mm in size along the bias direction (45 degree angle to warp). Take one test specimen and fold, face out, two diagonally opposite corners together. Overlap the corners, back to face, and Copyright

Deviations from the requirements of this standard (e.g., number of test specimens, test specimen size, etc.) shall have been agreed upon between supplier and vehicle manufacturer. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, r

15、eports, etc. 4.3 Instructions. 4.3.1 Fit a conditioned cork liner around the inner surface of a clean test chamber. The liner must fit snugly. To eliminate any tendency for the liner to rotate during testing, tape the two short edges at the join to the chamber wall with double coated tape. Note: Rep

Pull fiber from the bundle until the weight is 0.1 0.005 g. 4.3.3 Place the three folded test specimens and the cotton sliver into a test chamber. Place the cover on the chamber, and set the time

Turn on the airflow and start the testing machine. 4.3.4 If a specimen hangs up (wedges around the impeller without tumbling) or lies on the bottom of the chamber without movement during testing, stop the machine and the timer, remove the face plate and free th

Resume testing. 4.3.6 At the end of the run, remove test specimens from the chamber and remove the staples. Gen

19、tly shake off the excess fibers. Save one of the test specimens to illustrate lint pickup. 4.3.7 Clean off the remaining fibers on the last two test specimens using the following procedure. These test specimens illustrate lint retention. 4.3.7.1 Lay the test specimen flat on a 12 3 mm thick foam pad

20、. Vacuum the specimen until the specimen is completely void of any lint fibers or until 5 strokes are reached. One stroke is defined as a back and forth motion over the same area of the specimen. The specimen may be rotated as necessary to remove as much lint as possible within the limit of 5 stroke

21、s. 4.3.8 Mount the test specimens on stiff paper/card stock and label the lint pickup, lint retention and control test specimens appropriately. It is advisable to cover the mounted specimens with a piece of paper the same size as the card stock or to place the mounted specimens into a clear plastic

22、sleeve to protect the specimens. 4.3.9 After testing, clean the test chamber of all retained fiber. 5 Data 5.1 Calculations. Compare the lint pickup and retention test specimens to the control specimen and rate using the following rating scale. 5.1.1 Rating Scale. Reference Table 1. Table 1: Rating

23、Scale Rating Observation 10 = None: No fiber left on the fabric surface. 8 = Trace: Slight amount of fiber left on the fabric surface as seen with the aid of 10X maximum magnification. 6 = Moderate: Slight amount of fiber left on the fabric surface as seen with the naked eye. 4 = Annoying: Large amo

24、unt of fiber left on the fabric surface and/or a change in fabric appearance. 2 = Severe: Clumps of fiber entangled with the fabric surface or complete coverage of fabric surface by fiber. 5.2 Interpretation of Results.
