、e event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 1.1 Scope. This document establishes the requirements for the Interior Decorative Trim (IDT) used in General Motors (GM) vehicles. All requirements in this standard apply to each unique decorat

、ive trim component, design and interface. The required functions, performance, appearance, design constraints, and validation of the components are defined by this document. 1.1.1 Certain sections or paragraphs are broad in scope as this document must cover many different constructions, design conce

、pts, and trim levels to meet the needs of the full range of GM vehicles. Therefore, program specific requirements that may not be covered within this specification are identified in the Statement of Requirements (SOR) Appendix C2. 1.2 Mission/Theme. The primary purpose of the IDT is to provide an at

、tractive appearance within the vehicles interior while at the same time offering components that comply with subsystem and vehicle level requirements. 1.3 Classification. The IDT is typically classified as an injection molded substrate that may be decorated with paint, film, chrome and/or genuine ma

Any components that attach to the Instrument Panel (IP) structure or trim shall be packaged outside of this stroke zone.

、 The packaging space must also clear the column stroke zone for the deformation of these parts. 3.2.1.3.2 Head Impact. The IDT components, as installed within the head impact zone, shall be designed in conjunction with the interfacing subsystem to achieve a head deceleration 20% less (includes inten

、ded margin) than the requirement within the country of sale for regulations such as FMVSS 201, ECE R21 and Korea Article 88. Head decelerations that do not meet this threshold require improvement or obtain a deviation approval from the GM Validation Engineer and Design Release Engineer. 3.2.1.3.3 Pa

、4 Forward field of vision as regulated in the country of sale. 3.2.1.5.2 Veiling Glare. 3.2.1.5.2.1 Day Time Reflection. When sunlight is reflected off of the IDT back into the windshield or side window and then into the drivers eyes, it is known as Veiling Glare. The IDT components located in the V

、eiling Glare Zone shall be evaluated by GM using a Multi-Vector Math Based Analysis Tool for all selected finishes. 3.2.1.5.2.1.1 The Veiling Glare Zone is a function of sun angle, IP surface orientation, windshield/side window angle, color, and gloss as defined in SAE 920104. The IDT shall be desig

、ned and integrated to minimize or eliminate veiling glare to a subjective rating level equal to or greater than eight (8) according to GMW14264. 3.2.1.5.2.2 Night Time Reflection. Light from back lit IDT components (i.e., ambient lighting, switches, and displays) that reflect off of the windshield a

、nd into the drivers eye range is known as Night Time Reflection Veiling Glare. The IDT components with integrated back lit content must be evaluated using the following design studies: 3.2.1.5.2.2.1 Package lit components such that light emitted from them does not reflect in the drivers forward, sid

、e mirror, or rear mirror fields of vision. 3.2.1.5.2.2.2 Package components, panel break-ups, and openings such that reflections are not in the drivers forward, side mirror, or rear mirror fields of vision. 3.2.1.5.2.2.3 Multi-Vector Math Based Analysis Tool. 3.2.1.5.2.2.4 The IDT components shall shield primary vehicle displays from reflections and glare from external light source
