This standard describes the procedure to test and evaluate the resistance to wear/scuff of the coated weatherstrip bulb. 1.2 Foreword. Not

This standard is applicable to all coated body seals with bulbs. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards/Specifications. None 2.2 GM Standards/Specifications. None 3 Resources 3.1 Faciliti

    4、es. Not applicable. 3.2 Equipment. 3.2.1 Wear Test Fixture. See Appendix A, Figure A1, and Figure A3 or Benz Fisher Abrader, having an electrical motor that operates at 15 cycles per minute. This drives the work arm(s) for 100 mm in a drag-lift-return motion and runs perpendicular to the weatherstri

    5、p sample. The arm(s) have a 45 mm radius and a 300 10 g head that gets covered with a test wear fabric and has an actual sample contact surface of 90 5 mm. 3.2.2 Wear fabric made of 1.33 Carded Cotton Wrap Sateen, 100% bleached, 235 g/m2. Fabric source: Testfabrics, Inc. (), number 428, or equivalen

    6、t. 3.3 Test Vehicle/Test Piece. Cut a specimen length suitable to fit under one or all of the arms on the test fixture. Specimen must not have any wrinkles or other discrepancies. 3.4 Test Time. Not applicable. 3.5 Test Required Information. Not applicable. 3.6 Personnel/Skills. Not applicable. 4 Pr

    7、ocedure 4.1 Preparation. Not applicable. 4.2 Conditions. 4.2.1 Environmental Conditions. The minimum time between manufacturing and testing shall be 72 h. The test pieces shall be maintained at a temperature of 23 5C and 50 5% relative humidity for at least 24 h prior to test and shall be free from

    8、strain during this period. 4.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 4.3 Instructions. 4.3.1 Cut the fabric to a size sufficient to cover and be se

    9、curely attached to the test head. Identify the fabrics abradant wear side with an “X“ marking. This is the side with the non-uniform long floats (see Figure A3). This side faces and contacts the weatherstrip specimen and runs perpendicular to the weatherstrip bulbs center line. Install the wear fabr

    10、ic onto test fixture arm(s) to be used. Pull and wrap the fabric snugly around the test arm radius. The fabric shall not be used if it becomes wrinkled or torn at any time during the test period. 4.3.2 Insert and secure the weatherstrip sample and any setup fixtures needed to prevent the movement of

    11、 the weatherstrip from the fixtures base. 4.3.3 Set the cycle counter to 600 cycles so it stops for period observation of the weatherstrip for any unusual wear or conditions. Continue the cycling until the specified number of test cycles. 5 Data 5.1 Calculations. Not applicable. 5.2 Interpretation o

The report shall include the following: 5.3.1 Complete identification of the specimen. 5.3.2 Conditioning of the test specimen. 5.3.3 Test conditions. 5.3.4 Any d

    14、eviations to the test procedure. 5.3.5 Observations of the condition of each tested area. 5.3.6 Number of cycles before coating wear-through. 5.3.7 Number of tested locations, that average value of cycles and the range value of the same sample lot. 5.3.8 Report if a control specimen was also tested,
