This standard describes

    2、 material types of unfilled, heat stabilized, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene terpolymer, which are used in injection or blow molded components. 1.1.1 Additional Characteristics. Materials certified to this standard may have additional characteristics, e.g., paintable, elastomer modified, etc. Possi

    3、ble additional characteristics are defined in GMW3013. 1.1.2 Types. The classification into groups is according to the different properties as described in Table 1, Table 2, and Table 3. 1.2 Symbols. The material abbreviation according to ISO 11469 is ABS. 1.3 Typical Applications. Typical applicati

    4、ons include mold in color, painted, or chrome plated interior trim and painted or chrome plated exterior trim. 1.4 Remarks. TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet guidance documents (available at ). 3 Requirements 3.1 Materials approved to this standard shall meet the requirements of GMW3013, General Requirements for Handling of Technical Terms of Delivery for Plastics. 3.2

    7、 Requirements on Delivery. Important physical, mechanical and thermal properties that characterize the material are summarized in Table 1 and Table 2. Note: For each product, the requirements to Table 1 and Table 2 shall be documented by Certification Statement according to GMW3013. The color shall

    8、be specified on drawings, in material specifications and otherwise. 3.3 Requirements on Test Specimens. Unless otherwise specified, injection molding of test specimens shall be accomplished per ISO 294 with the conditions for injection molding from ISO 2580-2. Test methods and specimen dimensions ar

    9、e also to be in accordance with ISO 2580-2 with the following additions: use ISO 3167, Type 1A, thickness 4 mm for tensile and flexural properties. All tests shall be performed on specimens 40 h minimum after molding and immediately following a conditioning period of 24 h minimum in a controlled atm

    10、osphere per GMW3221, Code A, unless otherwise specified. All tests shall be performed on unannealed specimens. The values specified in Table 1 shall be met by test specimens in natural or black; the values specified in Table 2 shall be met by integrally colored test specimens. For integrally colored

    11、 grades where other additive systems (e.g., stabilizer) are used, the impact values shall not decrease more than 10% from the specified minimum value. 3.3.1 Chemical Requirements. All parts manufactured from molding compounds shall be resistant to the media they contact at their place of use. Copyri

The following are also required for full standard approval. x The minimum number of lots per test required is one in natural. x Stress Strain Curve at multiple temperatures for example: 23 C, 85 C, and 30 C. 3.5 Performance Requirements. Performance requ

    14、irements, e.g., flammability, fogging or resistance to odor, shall be specified on part drawings or in component standards. All finished parts for Interior applications shall meet the requirements according to GMW14444 and GMW14651. All finished parts for Exterior applications shall meet the require

    15、ments according to GMW14650. 3.6 Compound Properties.     31、 Regulations 5.1 Legal Regulations. All materials must satisfy applicable laws, rules, regulations and recommendations valid in the country of usage. 5.2 Language. In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 5.3 Inspection and Rejec

    32、tion. Samples of components or materials released to a GM material specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this material specification and approved by the responsible Engineering department prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. A new approval must be recei

    33、ved for any changes, e.g., properties, manufacturing process, location of manufacture, etc. If not otherwise agreed, all testing and documentation normally required for initial release must be completed. It is the responsibility of the supplier to inform the customer in a timely manner, without soli

    34、citation, and to include documentation of all modifications of materials and/or processes and to apply for a new release. If not otherwise agreed, all release tests shall be repeated and documented by the supplier prior to commencement of delivery of non-conforming bulk supplies. In individual cases

    35、, a shorter test can be agreed to between the responsible Engineering department and the supplier. 5.4 Initial Source Approval. No shipments shall be made by any supplier until representative initial production samples have been approved by the appropriate Materials Engineering department(s) as meet

    36、ing the requirements of this specification. 5.5 Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). For new product submissions, or when a change in chemical composition of an existing product has occurred, a complete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted

    37、in compliance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements or other country-specific MSDS/SDS requirements. In addition, product MSDS/SDS submissions must be in compliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Saf

    38、ety Data Sheet guidance documents where available. 5.6 All materials supplied to this standard must comply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Engineering qualifications of an approved source are required for this standard. Only source

    39、s listed in the GM Materials File (MATSPC) under this standard number have been qualified by Engineering as meeting the requirements of this standard.
