The apparatus used to conduct the test shall be asindicated in SAE J1527, 16.2, Rate of Fuel Permeation, with modifications for the dimensions of hose, reservoir,

9、and fuel volume as listed in Table 1. Selection of dimensions for hose length, fuel volume, andreservoir volume is dependent on the Inner Diameter (ID) of the hose being measured. For hoses that do nothave an ID listed in Table 1, the closest smaller hose ID shall be selected from the table for the

10、determinationof these test samples and apparatus dimensions. Fuel to be used for all preconditioning of materials, and allpermeation measurements, is to be CE10 (90% Liquid C to ISO 1817 plus 10% ethanol) unless otherwisespecified. Fuel temperature is to be maintained at 40 C 2 C during the equilibr

Permeation test sample and fixture must be sealed beforetemperature of fuel is increased to avoid significant loss of volatiles prior to permeation measurements. Properhot fuel handling safety procedures must be utilized.
