This standard specifies the test method for measuring the thickness of the dried film of organo-coated products without generating damage on the face. 1.2 Applicability. This standard applies to measuring the thickness of organic coating films on ferrous and non-ferrous

    9、0. 4 Procedures 4.1 Conditions. 4.1.1 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 4.2 Instructions. 4.2.1 Calibration of the Elcometer. 4.2.1.1 Selection o

    10、f the Probe. 4.2.1.1.1 In case of ferrous base: A ferrous type probe and ferrous standard face. 4.2.1.1.2 In case of non-ferrous base (cadmium, copper, bronze, zinc, aluminum, chrome, cast iron and lead): A non-ferrous type probe and non-ferrous standard face (aluminum). 4.2.1.2 Mount the probe on t

    11、he regulator/indicator of the Elcometer and turn on the power by pressing the on/BAT switch. Press the on/BAT switch once more so that the electric energy is recorded in the indication pane. 4.2.1.2.1 In case of an electric energy of not less than 100: Useable. 4.2.1.2.2 In case of an electric energ

    15、asure the value. 4.2.1.5 Press the CAL switch, and record the thickness of the used plastic film and input it by pressing ENTER. 4.2.1.6 Remove the plastic film and then make the probe contact with the standard face. Calibrate to the zero point by pressing the zero switch. 4.2.1.7 During the operati

    16、on and record of 4.2.1.5 and 4.2.1.6, the probe shall be contact with the standard face. 4.2.1.8 If the surface of the test piece to be tested is not smooth, the following shall be added. 4.2.1.8.1 Perform the test methods from 4.2.1.3 to 4.2.1.5. Here, repeat the procedure of 4.2.1.4 at 10 ) 20 cyc

    17、les and calculate the mean value. 4.2.1.8.2 After removing the plastic film, put a film around the minimum value (25 ) on the standard face. Make the probe contact with the face 10 ) 20 times and calculate the mean value. 4.2.1.8.3 With the zero CAL switch pressed and the probe contacted, record the

    18、 mean thickness of the used film and input it by pressing ENTER. 4.2.1.8.4 Calibrate to the zero point by repeating the test methods from 4.2.1.8.1 to 4.2.1.8.3 once. 4.2.2 Attach the bottom face of the probe to the surface of the test piece completely and measure the value. 5 Data 5.1 Evaluations.

    19、Over the whole surface of the test piece measure the thickness and record the mean value. However, portions within 8 mm from the inside hole, curve and edge shall be excluded from measuring. 6 Safety This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment.
