    2、e material defined by this specification is a solvent free, airless sprayable vinyl based and paint oven temperature curing sealer. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for sealing of interior and exterior spot weld flanges. The Manufacturing Properties and Eng

    3、ineering Performance Requirements defined in this specification are based upon laboratory coupon testing and define the minimum acceptance criteria for sealer performance. The assembly process and design for the component will determine the specific sealer processing parameters for each assembly lin

    4、e. The component engineering performance requirements are defined by the component SDS (Sub-system Design Specification). Prior to use, the sealer must be evaluated under the component production parameters. The choice of substrates, stamping lubricants, stamping plant processing conditions, assembl

    5、y plant processing conditions and specific design application may affect sealer performance. Compliance with this specification does not guarantee the sealer will function for all potential applications on a vehicle. 3. REQUIREMENTS Note: Use test panels EC-coated according to FLTM BI 120-01, C. The

    6、 material must be applied on the EC-coated test panels 30 minutes after oven curing. 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 SYSTEM COMPATIBILITY Initial

    7、 sealer approval was based on a specific material system which includes the substrate, lubricant, e-coat, sealer, primer, and topcoat. The material system was oven cured using specific production process parameters. Substrate choice, coatings, and assembly plant processing conditions may affect seal

    8、er performance. If any of these parameters are changed, the sealer performance must be validated using the new parameters.     9、ing drawing. 3.3.2 Solids, min. 98% (FLTM BV 150-10) 3.3.3 Ash, max. 45% (FLTM BV 150-10) 3.3.4 Density at 20 C, max. (ASTM D 1475) 1.46 g/cm33.3.5 Viscosity at 20 C 3.3.5.1 As received: 180 340 Pas 3.3.5.2 After Ageing, max. 340 Pas (72h at 35 +/- 2 C) Test Method 1. Brookfield viscosimeter type RV

Test Method 1. Coat 300 x 100 x 0,8 - 0,9 mm te

    14、st panels, prepared according to clause 3 Note, in such a manner that after the (a) Min. curing cycle (b) Max. curing cycle According to FLTM BV 150-05, table 2, phase 3 (use separate specimens for each curing cycle) a dry coating thickness of 2.0 mm, beginning at one edge of the test panel and tape

    15、ring to zero at the other, is obtained. After 24 h at 23 +/- 2 C make two cuts through the coating along the 300 mm length of the test panel and 30 mm apart and try to peel-off coating starting at the edge with the lowest film thickness. 3.10 WATER ABSORPTION, max. 2% (FLTM BV 153-07) 3.11 WETTING (

    16、FLTM BV 153-08, clause 1 and 5-7, except test panels of 300 x 100 x 0.8 0.9 mm, prepared according to clause 3; note, template 30 x 2 mm) No tackiness of material surface, no cracking or blistering. The paint must form a closed film over the sealer. Staining or discoloration is permitted. 3.12 SHORE

    17、 HARDNESS “A” 50 - 75 Test Method: Apply enough material to a test panel of 300 x 100 x 0.8 0.9 mm, prepared according to clause 3, note, and scrape to a dimension of 30 x 5 mm thickness. Condition for 10 min. at RT and expose in a mechanical convection oven at a temperature of 165 +/- 2 C for 30 mi

    18、nutes. Condition for four hours at RT and check the Shore Hardness according to ISO 868, 15 s time delay. 3.13 SHEAR STRENGTH (FLTM BV 154-03, method B; preparation of specimens in accordance with clause 3, note, coating thickness x = 3 mm. Heat curing cycle according to FLTM BV 150-05, table 2, pha

    20、cm 3.14 PEAL STRENGTH (FLTM EU-BV 54-03, method C; preparation of specimens according to clause 3, note, coating thickness x = 3 mm. Heat curing to FLTM BV 150-05, table 2, phase 3, min. and max. curing cycle; use separate specimens for each curing cycle). 3.14.1 At Room Temperature: min. 50 N/cm 3.

    21、14.2 At 90 +/- 2 C min. 30 N/cm 3.14.3 At minus 40 +/- 1 C min. 50 N/cm 3.15 BRIDGING (FLTM BV 153-05, except prepare test panels according to clause 3, Note) The material shall bridge a gap of x = 4 mm. The sag through length shall not exceed 5 mm. 3.16 ABRASIVES The material shall contain no abras

    22、ive agents. Test Method: Dilute a one-gram sample of material with one-gram special white spirit (60/140) and mix thoroughly. Rub a portion of the diluted material 10 times between two pieces of flat, clean plate glass. The appearance of scratches on the glass plate will be considered failure. 3.17

    23、SPRAYABILITY The material shall be a smooth homogeneous mixture, free from foreign material and suitable for use in airless spray equipment. It shall spray evenly and rapidly with no tip clogging or fluctuations in the spray pattern and with a minimum spray back and fogging. 3.18 QUALITY The materia

    24、l shall be a smooth homogeneous mixture, free from foreign material and properties detrimental to normal production use. It shall be consistent in color and texture and free from objectionable odors during normal production and storage. It shall be suitable for the intended application. 3.19 STORAGE STABILITY, min. 3 months (From date of receipt at Ford Motor Company) When stored in sealed unopened containers out of direct sunlight at ambient temperatures between 5 and 32 C.
