    2、989-A 17% MINERAL FILLED CONDUCTIVE MOLDING COMPOUND NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a mineral filled and conductive thermoplastic molding compound based on polyphenylene ether and polyamide blend. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released or

    3、iginally for material used for fuel filler doors that do not require a conductive primer and can be painted in the assembly plant with the body. Notice: This material absorbs and retains moisture. Part design and tolerances must accommodate changes in part dimensions and physical properties due to m

    4、oisture absorption or loss in the service/assembly environment. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements for Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1.1 All requirements of this specif

    5、ication, identified by symbol (s), shall be met with data representing 3 sigma values. 3.2 MOLDING COMPOUND (s) 3.2.1 Melt Volume Rate 7.0 - 20.0 g/10 minutes (ISO 1133, 280 C, 2.16 kg) The material shall be dried for 30 minutes minimum at 95 C in a mechanical convection oven immediately preceding t

    6、he test. 3.3 MOLDED TEST SPECIMEN 3.3.1 Preparation of Test Specimens Unless otherwise specified all tests shall be carried out on injection molded one-end gated test specimens. The following dimensions are required: A. 150 min x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm (Tensile Bar, ISO 3167) B. 120 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2

Page 2 of 6 Specimens with shorter dimensions shall be cut from the center portion of the test specimen A and/or B. The specimens shall be prepared according to ISO 294. No annealing allowed. 3.3.2 Dens

    8、ity 1.22 - 1.28 g/cm3 (ISO 1183, Method A) (s) 3.3.3 Tensile Strength at Break, min 60 MPa (ISO R 527, 150 minimum x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm specimen, 50 mm/min test speed) (s) 3.3.4 Flexural Modulus, min 3.5 GPa (ISO 178, 80 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm specimen, 2 mm/min test speed, 64 mm support span) (s) 3

Low tempera

(s) 3.3.6 Heat Deflection Temperature, min 135 C (ISO 75, 120 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm specimen, flatwise, 0.32 +/- 0.01 mm deflection 1.80 MPa) All specimens dry as molded. If not tested immediately after molding, specimens must be stored in a sealed, mo

    11、isture-proof container filled with silica gel. (s) 3.3.7 Vicat Softening Temperature, min 198 C (ISO 306, 10 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm specimens. Bath - silicone oil, temperature raise 50 +/- 5 C/h. Dial gage reset to 0 after addition of 5 kg weight. At 50 N load) All specimens dry as molded. If not tes

GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 4.1 COEFFICIENT OF LINEAR THERMAL EXPANSI

    20、to this specification and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory and be available on request. 4.8 TENSILE STRESS/STRAIN CURVES (ISO 527-1, 527-2, ISO 11403-1; 150 x 1 x 4 mm specimen specimen A Test speed shall be 5 mm/minute for all materials. Provide a curve of tensile stress/

    21、strain using one specimen at each of the following temperatures: 23, 50, 80 and 105 C. For ductile materials, the curve shall cover strain through yield point.
