SCOPE The material defined by this specification are bulked continuous filaments (BCF) nylon, cut pile carpet, tufted into a synthetic primary foundation. WSS-M3H125-A is then precoated. The precoated carpet is then laminated

    3、 to a barrier material for improved fit and acoustical properties. 2. APPLICATION WSS-M3H125-A was released for material used for full floor application. 3. REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed herein, the end-item carpet assembly (molded or otherwise fabricated) shall meet all requir

    4、ements of the WSS-M8P16-A performance specification for full floor applications. Because this carpet does not meet Resistance to Abrasion requirements of 4000 cycles, per WSS-M8P16-A para 3.13, it may only be used per the alternate conditions specified in WSS-M8P16-A para 3.13 (throw-in mats must be

    5、 standard equipment or heel pads must completely cover the areas most vulnerable to driver wear.) 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to Quality System Requirements, QS-9000. Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification o

    6、f materials. A Control Plan for ongoing production verification is required. This plan must be reviewed and approved by the relevant Ford Materials activity and/or Ford Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) prior to production parts submission. Appropriate statistical tools must be used to analyze pro

    7、cess/product data and assure consistent processing of the materials. Part producers using this material in their products, must use Ford approved materials and must conform to a process control plan which has been approved by STA and/or the relevant Materials Activity. 3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY

    8、 AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS Ford Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/or thermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification. The IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designat

    9、ed material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spectra and thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION WSS-M3H125-A Page 2 of 4 3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values indicated herein are based on

    10、 material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 3.4 SAMPLE SELECTION All evaluations shall be conducted on test specimens taken from finished roll

    11、goods prior to any subsequent operations, such as reheating or molding. 3.5 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be specified on the engineering drawing. 3.6 COMPOSITION (ASTM D 276) Pile Yarn Nylon Primary Foundati

    13、ament, 1.0 - 1.5 tex) 3.7.2 Pile Count, min (ASTM D 418) Rows 50.4/100 mm Stitches 48.4/100 mm Rows and stitches per 100 mm shall be based on an average count on a 254 mm length of carpet and shall not exceed minus 2/100 mm.     14、n Materials Primary (Tufting Foundations) * * As specified on the Approved Source List 3.7.4 Backcoating The precoat shall form a continuous and uniform coating over the back of the carpet so that all pile fibers are covered. The precoat shall be thoroughly melted and shall maintain its ability to l

    15、ock in the pile fibers in the end-item, molded carpet assembly. The precoat shall thoroughly saturate the base of the pile fiber bundles to ensure adequate tuft lock. Penetration of the precoat through to the face shall be controlled to provide the required resistance to abrasion and fiber loss, but

    16、 the backcoating shall not be visible on the face of the pile fiber. 3.7.5 Needle Gauge 1.98 mm 3.7.6 Pile Height, min 3.0 mm (ASTM D 418) 3.8 WEIGHT, g/m2, range (ASTM D 418/FLTM AN 102-02) Pile Yarn 370 - 400 Primary Foundation Material * Precoat * * As specified on the Approved Source List * As r

    18、Engineering drawing, Engineering parts specification and/or performance specification. All critical areas with respect to these properties shall be clearly designated on the engineering drawing.     19、upplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any change in the properties, composition, construction, color, processing or labeling of the material originally approved under this specification, whe

    20、ther or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology and the affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes and obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineering activity. Test data, tes

    21、t samples and a new code identification are to be submitted with the request. Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply to the materials addressed by this document. The regulations are defined in Engineering Materials Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Ma

    22、terials defined by this specification must have prior approval by the responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the affected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Sup

    23、plier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineering activity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specification (test results, not nominal valu

    24、es), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of a material will be based on its performance to this specification and on an assessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications. Upon approval, the material will be a

    25、dded to the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. The original carpet construction approved under this specification employed a primary backing as follows: 5.1 COMPOSITION (ASTM D 276) Primary Foundation Material 100 % Polyester
