SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a solvent refined, petroleum base lubricant compound with a 10% sulfur phosphorus extreme pressure ad

APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used to provide lubrication for front axle differentials of the hypoid type requiring high level score protection. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers m

    4、ust conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS These tests must be conducted on each blend of material and the method of sampling must conform to ASTM D 4057. 3.4.1 Total Sulfur 3.0 - 4.0% (ASTM D 129) 3.4.2 Phosphorus, min 0.

    5、15% (ASTM D 4951) 3.4.3 Nitrogen, min 0.04% (ASTM D 3228) 3.4.4 Moisture, max 0.10% (ASTM D 95) 3.4.5 Viscosity at 100 C 6.5 - 7.2 mm2/s (ASTM D 445) 3.4.6 Viscosity Index, min 98 (ASTM D 2270) 3.4.7 High Speed (3600 rpm) Timken Lever Load, min 5.7 kg (FLTM BJ 101-05) ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICAT

    10、191-APrinted copies are uncontrolled Copyright 2009, Ford Global Technologies, LLC Page 3 of 3 3.6 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS The lubricant must pass the road tests and axle dynamometer tests at both low and high speed, as well as shock and friction tests on current model automobiles for initial certi

    11、fication. Acceptability on the basis of such tests is the function of the Axle Engineering Department, Powertrain and Chassis PEO. Following initial certification, in order to stop shipment, an engineering functional rejection will be required. 3.6.1 Vehicle Rear Axle Score Test Material shall pass

    12、500 drag starts without any evidence of gear teeth scoring when tested in accordance with the Axle Engineering Department test and Development Physical Testing Procedure No. 001. 3.7 PHYSICAL AND/OR PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS AND FINISHED PRODUCT When required, shall be as specified on the affected pa

    13、rt or product engineering drawing, or in the affected part or product engineering performance specification. 3.8 QUALITY The material shall not be abrasive nor corrosive to steel in the presence or absence of water and shall contain no fillers, such as talc, fullers earth, mica, pulp, cork, asbestos, or other deleterious substances.
