    2、sides with phlogopite mica.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for catalyst gaskets.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for ma

    3、terial/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of ma

    4、terial/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference s

    5、tandard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSPrior to testing, the materials shall be conditioned in an oven at100 +/- 2 C for 1 h and allowed to cool to 23 +/ - 2 C in a desiccatorcontaining anhydrous ca lcium chloride. All tests shall be conductedin accordance w

    6、ith ASTM F 104, Type 1 material unless otherwisespecified.     7、h side of the steel sheet.3.4.1 Steel CoreStainless steel sheet according to DIN x15CrNiSi 2012. 3.4.2 Facing MaterialThe mi ca sheet shall be plied uniformly and bonded to eachside of the steel core to meet requirements of theap plication at the thickness specified on the EngineeringDrawing.3.5 ORI

    10、val wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplie

    11、r shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed

    12、by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity

    13、. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test report

    14、s, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended process and/or application. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.
