SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a glass fiber reinforced polyamide 6 molding compound. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for

    3、 accelerator pedals. NOTICE: This material absorbs and retains moisture. Part design and tolerances must accommodate changes in part dimensions and physical properties due to moisture absorption or loss in the service/assembly environment. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MAT

    4、ERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values indicated herein are based on material and specimens with moisture content not exceeding 0.2% (test accordin

    5、g to ISO R 960, Method B/ASTM D 789). All test materials immediately after processing have to be sealed in containers that are impermeable to water vapor. If the moisture content exceeds 0.2%, condition the material for a minimum of 16 h at 40 - 50 C at a reduced pressure below 133 kPa. Conduct test

    6、s in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. Individual specimens shall not be removed from closed containers until immediately before testing. 3.4 MOLDING COMPOUND 3.4.1 Glass Fiber Content 37.5 - 42.5% (ISO 3451/4, Test Temperature: 600 +/- 25 C, Test Portion: 1 g) 3

    8、ll be carried out on injection molded one-end gated test specimens. The following dimensions are required: A. 150 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm (Tensile Bar, ISO 3167) B. 120 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm Specimens with shorter dimensions shall be cut from the center portion of the test specimen A and/or B. The spe

    9、cimens shall be prepared according to ISO 294. No annealing allowed. 3.5.2 Density 1.41 - 1.48 g/cm3(ISO 1183, Method A/ASTM D 792, Method A1) 3.5.3 Tensile Strength at max load, min 185 MPa (ISO R 527/ASTM D 638M, 150 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm specimen, 5 mm/minute test speed) 3.5.4 Flexural Modulus, m

    10、in 9.8 GPa (ISO 178/ASTM D 790M, Method I, Procedure A, 80 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm specimen, 64 mm support span) 3.5.5 Shear Modulus at 23 C 1.6 - 2.7 GPa (ASTM D 4065, forced constant amplitude, fixed frequency of 1 Hz +/- 15%, strain level below 1%. Specimen approx. 60 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm cut from

    11、 the center of specimen A. Additionally, a Shear Modulus vs. Temperature curve shall be plotted for -50 to +210 C temperature range, at 5 C minimum intervals. The plotted curve must be within tolerance range shown on page 6. 3.5.6 Impact Strength, Izod, min (ISO 180, Method A/ASTM D 256, Method A, 6

    12、3.5 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm specimen, 10 specimens for each test) 3.5.6.1 At 23 +/- 2 C 13 kJ/m23.5.6.2 At -40 +/- 2 C 9 kJ/m2The test specimens must be conditioned for minimum of 6 h at the above specified temperature prior to impact test. Low temperature testing shall be done within the cold box. If

After heat aging test specimens are to be conditioned in a desiccator for 3 - 5 h at 23 +/- 2 C) 3.5.8.1 Impact Strength, Izod Change +/- 20% (Test Method per para 3.5.6.1, specimen

    15、s to be notched before heat aging) 3.6 FLAMMABILITY (ISO 3795) Burn Rate, max 100 mm/minute The specimen size required for material approval is 355 x 100 x 1.0 +/- 0.1 mm with a smooth surface. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting

    16、 the requirements of this specification. 5.1 COEFFICIENT OF LINEAR THERMAL EXPANSION 1.5 - 3-5/C (ASTM D 696) 5.2 MOLD SHRINKAGE (ISO 2577, approx. 150 x 100 x 3.2 +/- 0.2 mm, injection molded specimen) 5.2.1 Molding Shrinkage . After 48 h at 23 +/- 2 C 0.15 - 0.80% 5.2.2 Post Shrinkage (Separate sp

After 30 minutes at 120 C 0.04 - 0.08% 5.3 WATER ABSORPTION 0.7 - 1.0% (ISO 62, 24 h/ASTM D 570, 24 h, 50 +/- 1 mm diameter, 3.2 +/- 0.2 mm thick specimen) 5.4 IMPACT STRENGTH, IZOD, min (ISO 180, Method A/ASTM D 256, Method A, 63.5

    18、 x 10 x 4.0 +/- 0.2 mm specimen, 10 specimens minimum) 5.4.1 After Moisture Conditioning 24 kJ/m2The notched specimens shall be immersed for 48 h in distilled water at 50 +/- 1 C and subsequently conditioned for 1 h at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity prior to test and tested under the same conditions within 1 h.
