SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements for an excellent decorativ

    3、e finish with exterior thermosetting polyester powder coating over bright metal substrates. The powder coating shall provide good initial appearance with excellent durability and corrosion resistance. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for polyester powder coatings to provide

    4、excellent corrosion resistance to specified color and gloss over such substrates as zinc die cast, chrome plated steel and die cast, aluminum, zinc galvanized and stainless steel parts. Other resin systems are not permitted. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material

    5、 suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 SYSTEM COMPONENTS 3.3.1 Substrates Zinc die cast, chrome plated steel and die cast, aluminum, zinc galvanized and stainless steel parts, as specified on the Engineering Dra

    6、wing. 3.3.2 Metal Preparation 3.3.2.1 Cleaning The surface to be coated must be free from oil or alkaline residues, fingerprints, rust, dirt, moisture and other foreign materials. 3.3.2.2 Zinc Phosphate Zinc Phosphate coating to WSK-M3P1-C. Chromium oxide coating to WSK-M6P2-B is used for aluminum.

    7、Zinc Phosphate WSK-M3P1-C shall be used if steel and aluminum parts are processed concurrently. The aluminum tolerance of the process shall not be exceeded and all requirements of both WSK-M3P1-C and this specification shall be met by both steel and aluminum parts. Chromium Plated and Stainless Stee

    8、l parts shall be cleaned and pretreated to relevant Ford Approved Process or Manufacturing Standard.     9、owder material meeting Material Specification WSK-M70J8-A requirements applied by electrostatic spray or fluidized bed. Other resin systems are not permitted. 3.4 FILM PROPERTIES 3.4.1 Color (FLTM BI 109-01) As specified on Engineering Drawing or Color Release Supplement. Shall match the Master Appe

    10、arance Sample color panel. 3.4.2 Gloss (FLTM BI 110-01) As specified on Engineering Drawing or Color Release Supplement. Shall be specified by means of a letter suffix listed in the Material Specification to the color number assigned by the color release system. 3.4.3 Initial Hardness The finish sha

    11、ll be sufficiently cured at time of packing and shipping to withstand normal handling without damage. 3.4.4 Film Thickness, min 30 micrometre (FLTM BI 117-01) Coating must be sufficient to meet all performance requirements of this specification. 3.4.5 Ageing All parts shall be aged for 72 h at 23 +/

    12、- 2 C only before testing for resistance properties. 3.5 RESISTANCE PROPERTIES 3.5.1 Paint Adhesion Grade 0 (FLTM BI 106-01, Method B) No chipping 3.5.2 Chip Resistance, max Rating 2, max (FLTM BI 107-01) area loss, 0.5% ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONWSK-M2P146-A Printed copies are uncontrolled

    13、Copyright 2005, Ford Global Technologies, LLC Page 3 of 4 3.5.3 Water Resistance, min 240 h (FLTM BI 104-01) No blistering, softening, dulling, color change or loss of adhesion. Immediately after removal from the water, scribe the powder coating to bare metal. Dry the scribed area with a cloth or ai

    14、r pressure and apply immediately tape 3M Comp #898 to the scratch by pressing firmly and remove it with an upward motion at a medium speed. After 30 minutes air drying no scratches on the paint film down to the bare substrate permitted by fingernail attack. Causes for rejection are a) Blistering. b)

    15、 Paint removal more than 2,0 mm beyond the scribe line. c) Paint removal by fingernail attack as described above. 3.5.4 Salt Spray Resistance, min 480 h (FLTM BI 103-01) No rust spots, blistering, chipping, peeling, gloss loss, rust creepage or adhesion loss. Adhesion shall be tested according to it

    16、em 3.5.1. 3.5.5 Water and Soap Spot Resistance (FLTM BI 113-01) 3.5.5.1 Water Spotting, max AATCC Rating 4 - 5 3.5.5.2 Soap Spotting, max AATCC Rating 4 - 5 3.5.6 Acid Spot Resistance, max None (FLTM BI 113-05) 3.5.7 Xylene Wipe Resistance No dulling, softening or other undesirable effects after the

    17、 sample, which has been aged 72 h at 23 +/- 2 C, is rubbed 10 times in a circular motion with a wad of cheesecloth wetted with Xylene and allowed a 30 minute recovery period. 3.5.8 Thermal Shock Resistance (FLTM BI 107-03) No blistering or loss of adhesion. 3.5.9 Wax/Dewax Compound Resistance Applic

    18、ation of current wax preservative after one hour ageing of painted finish at 23 +/- 2 C and the removal of the preservative after a further 72 hours by any current dewaxing compound shall have no deleterious effect on the quality or appearance of the paint film.     20、ure See Note Note Accelerated Weathering is only to be considered if for Engineering concurred special reasons no Florida results are available. Under such circumstances comparative testing only is allowed against materials of known Florida stability with identical chemical type of resin. After expo

    21、sure in accordance with 3.5.10.1 and 3.5.10.2, washed but unpolished exposure samples shall show a minimum degree of dulling and change of color. Samples must be completely free from checking, and/or blistering. These samples shall show no color change, or iridescence in excess of specified AATCC ra

    22、ting (AATCC Grey Scale for Evaluating Change in Color, 10 step). Note a) Prior to examination the exposed samples must be cleaned with approved soap solution. b) In case of differences in the test results of Florida exposure and the accelerated weathering the results of the Florida exposure shall prevail. 3.5.11 Water Resistance After Weathering After Florida Exposure and/or accelerated weathering, test specimens shall be tested according to FLTM BI 104-01 for 24 hours. Adhesion shall be tested according to para. 3.5.1.
