    2、s specification is a high heat distortion typepolyeste r resin, where medium viscosity, fast cure and retention ofst rength and electrical properties under high temperature conditions arerequired.2. APPLICATIONThi s specification was released originally for coating and impregnatingalternator stators

    3、 and rotors.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product

    4、data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i n

    5、itial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test valu

    8、1.263.8 FLASH POINT, Part A, C, min 93(ASTM D 93)3.9 SOLIDS, Part A, %, by weight, min 90(FLTM BI 102-01)3.10 SEDIMENT-CENTRIFUGING, Part A Clear - no sediment(30 minutes at 2400 rpm)3.11 CURINGThe material shall completely cure in 20 minutes at 150 C.Test Meth od: Place 10 g of the catalyzed materi

    9、al in a 64 mmdi ameter aluminum evaporation dish and bake for 20 minutes at 150+/- 1 C. Remove from o ven, air cool to room temperature and inspectvarnish for internal tackiness.3.12 CHARACTERISTICS AFTER CURINGThe bak ed finish shall be hard, adherent and resistant to bending.The finish shall not l

    10、o se its physical or insulating properties whensubjected to the long continuous action of heat and electricalstress. The finish shall also be resistant to the action ofal kalies, acids, oils and moisture that may be present in itsapplication environment.3.13 DIELECTRIC STRENGTH S/T, min, 130V/microm

    12、etal insulated copper magnet wire on a 6.4 mm mandrel. Windeac h turn of wire closely together under even tension to a coillength of 75 mm. Place 12 of the 75 mm coils on a fixture. Dip intothe varnish as received . Withdraw a rate of 100 mm/minute. Dip andbake cycle is listed below.5 minutes Dip10

    13、minutes Drain60 minutes Bake 150 C10 minutes CoolPlace the samples in a flexural testing type jig such as is availableat Rawsonville Quality Control Laboratory. Apply the load in thecenter of 51 mm span on the coils through a lever system attached tothe heating chamber and testing jig. The load is l

    14、ead shot pouredinto a pail attached to the lever. When the testing is performed at149 C, the sample is pl aced into the jig and allowed to stand for 15mi nutes prior to load application to bring sample up to thetemperature.3.15 GEL TIME 100 C with no catalyst 130 - 190 minutes3.16 SUPPLIERS RESPONSI

    15、BILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under thi

    16、s specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivit

    17、y. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Materials Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.ENGINEERING M

APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffe

    19、c ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance

    20、 with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability fo

    21、r intended processes and/or applications. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.5. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information given below is provided for clarification and assistancein meeting the requirements of this specification.5.1 SHELF LIFE, min 6 mo

    22、nths(Unopened - from the date of shipment)5.2 FLAMMABILITYThis material represent s a potential fire hazard. The ManufacturingEngineering Department shall notify both the security and the safetyunits of its presence in the plant.
