SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an elastomer vacuum tubing with excellent resistance to fuel permeation, oxidized fuel (sour gasoline, and flex fuel). The tubing will

    3、withstand ambient air temperatures from -30 to +135 C. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for a material used in the fuel recirculation and emission systems where resistance to flex fuel, oil, sour fuel and temperature from -30 to +135 C is required. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDA

    4、RD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 HOSE CONSTRUCTION 3.4.1 The tubing shall consist of a fluoroelastomer veneer, having a high temperature, ozone resistant sy

    12、 conditioned at -30 C for 70 h and bent 180 over a temperature conditioned mandrel 10 times the nominal O.D. of the hose. This flexing shall be accomplished within 4 s. 3.8 OVALITY, min 92% Ovality will be expressed as a ratio of the inside minor to major diameter times 100. 3.9 BURST PRESSURE, min

    13、0.7 MPa (ASTM D 380) 3.10 VACUUM COLLAPSE, max 10% Test Method: The hose shall be subjected to a vacuum of 500 mm Hg (68 kPa) while bent over a mandrel having a diameter of 10 times the nominal O.D. of the hose. After and during the 24 h at 102 +/- 3 C, the outside diameter shall not be less than 90

    14、% of the original. 3.11 FUEL PERMEABILITY RESISTANCE, max TBD 3.12 FLAMMABILITY, Cover Self-extinguishing Test Method: Cut 6.4 mm wide strips longitudinally from the cover, which have been removed from the hose. A Bunsen burner shall be used to start burning of the strips until approximately 13 mm o

    15、f the strip is burning vigorously. Remove the burning strip from the flame and hold it horizontally with the outside facing upward. The flame shall be self-extinguishing within one minute. The average time of at least 6 determinations shall be used. The test shall be conducted in a draft free atmosp

    16、here. 3.13 RESISTANCE TO KINKING Test Method: Insert required length of hose on test fixture securing each end with metal clamps. When installing hose, it shall be bent within 5 s in the same plane and direction as its free state curvature. Place fixture in an oven at 121 +/- 3 C for 1 h. Remove fix

    17、ture from oven and within 5 minutes pass a steel ball of specified diameter through hose installed on fixture. Ball must pass freely. Nominal I.D.     20、MENT 1 RATE OF FUEL PERMEATION RESERVOIR SYSTEM EQUIPMENT REQUIRED 1) Reservoir Unit: An oblong screw top can that is modified by cold soldering a standard hose nipple into its base at the corner opposite its opening. 2) Screw Cap: A metal foil or fluoroelastomer lined cap to seal the reservoir unit

    21、. 3) Scale or Balance: A weighing unit with a 1200 g min capacity and readable to 0.01 g for hoses through 19 mm I.D., and 3 kg capacity and readable to 0.1 g for hoses greater than 19 mm I.D. 4) Impermeable Plug or End Fitting: An impermeable plug or end fitting of sufficient size to seal one end o

    22、f the hose. 5) Hose Clamps: Standard hose of correct size for hose being tested. PROCEDURE 1) Cut hose to proper length (see table under Step 11). 2) Plug one end of hose and measure depth of plug. 3) Fill hose with Fuel “C“ using a burette or graduate to measure volume of hose, and record volume. 4

    23、) Attach unplugged end of the hose to the hose nipple on the reservoir and secure with a hose clamp. 5) Fill the reservoir with Fuel “C“ (see attached table for amount), and seal reservoir with screw cap. 6) Weigh reservoir and hose assembly and record the weight. 7) Orient assembly vertically and g

    24、ently tap hose to insure complete filling of hose. 8) Place assembly horizontally in its storage position with the reservoir resting on its narrow side near the nipple with the hose in horizontal position. Storage location should be temperature controlled to 23 +/- 2 C. 9) Weigh and record the weigh

    25、t of assembly each 24 h +/- 1/2 h for 14 days. 10) After each weighing invert assembly to drain hose, gently mix fuel and agitate hose as in Step 7 and replace in storage position.
