SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a polyethylene film with one side uniformly coated with low tack acrylic adhesive. The adhesive is pressure sensitive over the rang

    3、e of -40 to 90 C and will not transfer adhesive or cause substrate staining upon removal. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as a manufacturing and shipping aid to protect the finish of interior plastic substrates against soiling and damage prior to customer

    4、delivery. Note: The material defined by this specification is intended only for applications where it will be removed prior to customer delivery. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirement

    5、s For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 GREEN STRENGTH The tape shall develop sufficient adhesion to permit normal handling immediately after application. 3.5 PREPARATION OF TEST SPECIMENS Substrate test specimens may be obtained from slab stock and/or representative production parts. Unles

    6、s otherwise specified, tests shall be conducted on substrates listed in para 5.2 by applying the tape per the following procedure: Clean test panels with a 50/50 blend (volume) of isopropyl alcohol and water and allow to air dry. Peel the liner from the film in a smooth continuous motion. Do not pee

    7、l the film from the liner. Position the tape on the test substrate. Using the roller described in ASTM D 1000 with no additional pressure, pass the roller over the full length of the tape once in each direction. Test samples with applied tape shall be conditioned for 48 h at 23 +/- 2 C and 50% relat

    8、ive humidity prior to exposure. Tests shall be completed within 4 h after removal from the conditioning environment unless otherwise specified.     9、NG AFTER ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE After each environmental exposure test, peel the tape from the substrate. The substrate shall show no evidence of staining, discoloration, gloss change or transfer of adhesive residue from the film. 3.6.1 Fade Resistance No adhesive stain or residue (SAE J1885, Xenon

    10、Arc transfer Exposure, 112.8 kJ/m2) 3.6.2 Heat Resistance No adhesive stain or residue (7 d at 90 +/- 2 C) transfer 3.6.3 Heat Resistance No adhesive stain or residue (30 minutes at 120 +/- 2 C) transfer 3.6.4 Humidity Resistance No adhesive stain or residue (7 d at 38 +/- 2 C and transfer 95 - 100%

    11、 relative humidity 3.6.5 Environmental Cycle Resistance No adhesive stain or residue transfer 5 cycles, each cycle consisting of the following: 4 h at 90 +/- 2 C 4 h at 38 +/- 1 C and 95 - 100% relative humidity 16 h at -30 +/- 1 C 3.7 FOGGING (FLTM BO 116-03, 3 h at 100 C) Fog Number, min 60 Format

Perform the test with the adhesive side of the tape bonded to aluminum foil. 3.8 FLAMMABILITY (SAE J369) Burn Rate, max 100 mm/minute Perform the test with the adhesive side of the tape bonded to aluminum foil. 3.9 ODOR, max Rating 2

    13、(SAE J1351) Perform the test with the adhesive side of the tape bonded to aluminum foil. 3.10 FUNCTIONAL APPROVAL Materials being evaluated for approval to this specification shall be subjected to a production trial. Functional trial results must be approved by the affected assembly operation and De

    14、sign Engineering. Results shall be made available to Materials Engineering prior to material approval and release.     15、ow is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 MATERIAL PROPERTIES Where applicable the following properties may be specified on the engineering drawing. In all cases this information will be provided by the supplier when requested. 5.1.1 Color

    17、additional surface substrate material approvals the supplier must submit complete test data and tested samples to the responsible Materials Engineering Activity. 5.2.1 Unpainted ABS Unpainted TPO (WSB-M4D type) 5.2.2 Vinyl (WSB-M98D18-B1) Note: Performance on other vinyl or vinyl/ABS substrates must be evaluated on an individual basis. 5.2.3 Carpet (WSB-M3H type) 5.2.4 Current Production Paint Systems (FLTM BI 103-02, Method C) 5.3 STORAGE STABILITY 6 months (10 - 28 C and 10 - 80% relative humidity)
