SCOPE: This specification covers the dimensions, material and performance of worm drive hoseclamps. NOTE: The torq

    2、ues specified are test requirements and are not recommended tightening torques for assembly purposes. 2. GENERAL: Alternative screw and thread sizes and means of screw retention are permissible provided all other requirements of this specification are met. The worm drive slots on the band must be fo

    3、rmed and not pierced and the forming shall not protrude radially within the band diameter. NOTE: Although the screw thread may vary, the screw head must remain in accordance with Figure 1 and Table 1. 3. DIMENSIONS: The dimensions of worm drive hoseclamps shall be as specified in Figure 1 and Table

    4、1. Parts shall be supplied at diameter B +2/-0. 4. MATERIAL: The material for the band, screw and screw housing shall be Stainless Steel to ASTM A 240, UNS S43000, or BS 1449 Part 2 430S17 Rm 450 - 600 MN/m2 or X6Cr17 DIN 17440 Rm 450 - 600 MN/m2. The screw component and/or housing may be lubricated

    5、 to assist in meeting the clamp performance requirements. The lubricant shall be contained within the housing such that there is no contamination of hose or degradation of the hose performance. The choice of lubrication (for example tin plating) is at the discretion of the manufacturer providing all

    6、 requirements of the Restricted Substance Management Standard, WSS-M99P9999-A1, are met. The material for the spring components of the Hose Clamps Worm Drive with spring element shall be from Stainless Steel to ASTM A 240, UNS S 30100, or BS 1449 Part 2 301S23 Spring Bridge 1100-1300 MN/m2Rm, spring

PERFORMANCE: The clamp should be tightened at approx. 80 rpm up to test tor

    8、que 30% above recommended tightening torque. No failure, deflection or destruction is allowed. When the clamp is further tightened, no failure should occur at a torque below the destruction torque specified in table 1. 9mm bandwidth clamps shall be mounted on a steel mandrel of diameter B max and to

    9、rqued to 1.5 Nm. A 1mm round feeler gauge shall not pass between the mandrel and the clamp. When the hose clamp is mounted on a mandrel of diameter (B+C)/ 2, a 1mm round feeler gauge shall not pass between the mandrel and the clamp. 12mm bandwidth clamps shall be mounted on a steel mandrel of diamet

    10、er B max and torqued to 2.5 Nm. A 1.2mm round feeler gauge shall not pass between the mandrel and the clamp. When the hose clamp is mounted on a mandrel of diameter (B+C)/ 2, a 1.2 mm round feeler gauge shall not pass between the mandrel and the clamp. The free running torque through the diameter ra

    11、nge shall not exceed 0.7 Nm for clamps with a 9 mm bandwidth and 1 Nm for clamps with a 12 mm bandwidth. 6. DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE TESTS: The spring performance shall be tested according to ASTM B 117/DIN 50021 SS (salt-spray) for 144 hours. The clamps should be mounted on a mandrel and torqued to 3.7

    12、Nm for clamps with a 9 mm bandwidth and 5.4 Nm for clamps with 12 mm bandwidth. No spring degradation should occur during the salt-spray test cycle. There shall be no degradation of the mechanical performance of the clamp. 7. MARKING Hoseclamps shall be permanently marked with the manufactures name

    13、or trademark and the appropriate size designation. The marking shall not have a negative impact on the performance of the clamp.     14、ing strategy is an important factor in achieving a sealed reliable joint. The following tightening strategy should be used for all WK903 parts: A DC nut runner shall be used to secure the clamp in a two stage process. The first stage shall use a maximum torque speed of 425rpm until 70% of the final

    15、torque is achieved. The second stage shall use a maximum torque speed of 125rpm for the remainder of the securing process. The final torque value is dependant on the band width and is as follows: 3.7 +/- 0.6 Nm for 9mm wide bands. 5.4 +/- 0.9 Nm for 12mm wide bands. When WK903 parts are specified on

    16、 coolant hose applications the tightening strategy shall be designated as a Significant Characteristic.
