    2、termines the abrasion resistance of automotive electrical cable. Apparatus Required Test Apparatus - see Figure 1 Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less

    3、 than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Prepare 4 test specimens as required by the relevant Engineering Materials Specification. 2. The insulation of the cable is abraded by a horizontal action of the test jack or of the specimen. Th

    4、e active part of the test jack is an abrasion wire of 0.45 +/- 0.01 mm diameter made from tungsten carbide with a Standard Commercial finish. The sweep of the action is 10 mm, +2/-0 mm; the sweep rate is to be 50 to 60 double strokes (cycles) per minute. The test jack is to be positioned at a right

    5、angle to the sample. The apparatus is to be equipped with a counter counting the double strokes. As soon as the insulation is worn through, so that the test jack contacts the conductor, the apparatus switches itself off. Apply a voltage of 50 VDC between the abrasion wire and the conductor of the sp

    6、ecimen. The test must shut down when the current reaches 0.045 amperes max. The test circuit must have an in-line resistance limited to 10 ohms. 3. An appropriate device ensures the sample is kept flat and securely positioned on the base support during test. For each test the specimen of 750 mm leng

    7、th is moved 100 mm and at the same time turned by an angle of 90. 4. When tested according to Figure 1, the cable must withstand at least the double strokes (one cycle) and weight as indicated in Table 1, without the insulation becoming worn.
