    2、XTILES TO BLEEDING, PERSPIRATION AND WATER SPOTTING Application This procedure is used to determine the bleeding, perspiration and water spotting properties of textiles and sewing threads. Apparatus Required Laboratory Balance Accurate to 0.1 mg. Dishes Two 100 mm Petri dishes without covers. Glass

    3、Plates Sufficient glass plates, 50 mm square, to make a total weight of approximately 100 g on the test specimens. Beakers (1) 100 mL beaker (1) 1500 mL beaker Oven An air circulating drying oven capable of maintaining a temperature of 38 +/- 2 C. AATCC Chromatic Scale (Latest Edition) Source: Secre

Box 12215 Research Triangle Park, N.C. 27709 Materials Required Test Fabric AATCC Multifiber Test Fabric No. 10 Two sections, 50 mm square each, of AATCC multifiber test fabric No. 10. The test fabric is composed of narrow filli

    5、ng stripes (8 mm) of spun acetate, bleached cotton, spun nylon 6/6, spun dacron polyester type 54, spun orlon type 75, and worsted wool woven in 50 mm repeats.     7、enue Middlesex, New Jersey USA 08846 Distilled Water 10 ppm max dissolved solids (ASTM D 1888). Sodium Chloride NaCl C.P. Sodium Bicarbonate NaHC03C.P. Solutions Required Perspiration Test Medium - 0.3% NaCl - (C.P.) Weigh 3.0 g of NaCl, dissolve in distilled water and dilute to 1000 mL. Adjust the

    8、pH of this solution to 7.8 with NaHC03solution (0.3 - 0.5 g NaHCO3per 1000 mL of distilled water). Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior

    9、 to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure Bleeding and Perspiration 1. In two separate petri dishes, place 50 mm square sections of the following materials in the order listed so that each succeeding fabric covers the other: a. Multifiber fabric b. Test s

    10、pecimen face down on multifiber fabric. (See note) c. Crockmeter test cloth. Note: Thread is tested by coiling an 1800 mm length of the test material around the fingers to form a loop 40 mm in diameter. Place the loop of thread between the multifiber fabric and crockmeter test cloth and follow Steps

Add 25 mL of the perspiration test medium to one dish and 25 mL of distilled water to the other for the bleeding test. 3. Let soak for 15 minutes.

    12、 4. Place one or more 50 mm square glass plates (approximately 100 g) over the fabrics in each dish and apply pressure with the fingers to free the fabrics from any air bubbles. 5. Pour off excess test solution and condition in an oven at 38 +/- 2 C for 4 h without a petri dish cover. 6. Remove the

    13、samples from the dishes, separate and place in the oven at the same temperature until dry. Inspect the multifiber fabric and crockmeter test cloth for stain and color change and also the test specimen for degree of color change using the AATCC Chromatic Scale. The resistance to bleeding and perspira

    14、tion shall be reported as a degree of multifiber fabric and crockmeter test cloth staining using the AATCC Chromatic Scale. 7. Report as required by the engineering specification. Water Spotting 1. Cut a fabric swatch 200 x 300 mm. 2. Place the sample, face up, on a rack in the drying oven at a temp

    15、erature of 38 +/- 2 C. 3. Apply 5 ml distilled /de-ionized water in the middle of the sample. Repeat the test with tap water on a different sample. Note: The water can be applied with a beaker or pipette and should be at room temperature before application. 4. The material shall remain in the oven u

    16、ntil the water has evaporated. 5. Inspect the face and back surface of the fabric for spotting and report as required by the engineering specification. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
