    9、ear Lube (ESL-M2C105-A2)Test Method:. Squeeze sealant (0.508 mm thick) between metal disks. Hold disks in position with 0.508 mm shims and nut andbolt. Air cure (25 E C, 50% r.H.) assembly for 72 h. Soak assembly for 24 h at 121 EC in gear lube. After 24 h evaluate sealant for adhesion and lubecompa

    10、tibility.Evaluation:. Evaluate lube compatibility by visually checking thesealant for excessive softening, dissolving or any otheradverse reaction. Evaluate adhesion by separating the disks. Acceptableadhesion is when a wedge must be forced between them toseparate the disks. There must be cohesive f

    11、ailure.3.4 QUALITYShall be a smooth homogeneous mixture, free from foreign materialsand properties detrimental to normal production application. It shallno t contain particles or solid spots of significant size to causeblockage of a 508 m diameter orifice.3.5 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRYFord Motor Com

    12、pany, at its option, may conduct infrared analysis ofmateri al/parts supplied to this specification. The spectraesta blished for initial approval shall constitute the referencest andard and shall be kept on file at the designated materiallaboratory. All samples shall produce spectra t hat correspond

    13、 to thereferen ce standard when tested under the same conditions as thosespecified on the master spectrum.3.6 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.ENGINEERING MATERIAL

    15、r ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance

    16、restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF

    17、 MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequ

    18、est, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort to the specification (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecim ens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.
