SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a heat stabilized type 6 nylon based copolymer molding compound which exhibits very high flexibility and high impac

    3、t. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for the speed control cable outer jacket. NOTICE: This material absorbs and retains moisture. Part design and tolerances must accommodate changes in part dimensions and physical properties due to moisture absorption or lo

    4、ss in the service/assembly environment. Information on this material with respect to moisture should be obtained from the responsible PEO Materials Engineering Department. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Com

    5、panys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 HEAT STABILIZER ADDITIVE Ford Motor Company, at its option, may conduct following heat stabilizer additive test on material/parts supplied to this specification. The stabilizer must be present as determined by one of the foll

    6、owing tests: Test Method A: To a 10 mL ground glass stoppered graduate add 0.5 mL glacial acetic acid, 1.5 mL of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution (fresh) and a 1 mL of carbon tetrachloride. Place 20 g of nylon peelets and 40 g of distilled water in a beaker. Allow the water to boil gently for 5 min. De

    7、cant off the water into another beaker. Add 7 mL of this decanted water to the previously prepared test solution and shake the mixture vigorously for about 15 s. If the carbon tetrachloride which settles on the bottom is purple, the heat stabilizer system is present. Test Method B: Place 20 g of nyl

    8、on pellets and 50 g of distilled water in a beaker. Allow the water to gently boil for five minutes. Decant the water into another beaker. Add 40 mL of this decanted water to a 50 mL ground glass stoppered graduate. Add while stirring 3 mL of nitric acid, two drops of 1 N potassium permanganate solu

    9、tion, and 7 mL of carbon tetrachloride. Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15 s. If the carbon tetrachloride, which settles to the bottom, is brown or purple, the heat stabilizer additive is present.     10、rd Global Technologies, LLC Page 2 of 3 3.3 MOLDING COMPOUND 3.3.1 Melting Point 185 - 225 C (ASTM D789)3.3.2 Specific Gravity 1.06 - 1.10 (ASTM D792)3.3.3 Moisture Content, max 0.20% (ASTM D789) 3.4 MOLDED TEST SPECIMEN The following requirements are intended for initial source qualifications, and

    11、Initial Sample Inspection Report. This will be rechecked at intervals specified by Quality Assurance. 3.4.1 Conditioning All specimens are to be dry as molded. Dry as molded specimens are defined as specimens which immediately upon removal from mold are sealed in containers that are impermeable to w

    12、ater vapor (maximum specimen moisture content 0.30%). No moisture shall be intentionally added to reach this level. Condition specimens a minimum of 24 h in sealed containers at 23 +/- 2 C. 3.4.2 Test Conditions Conduct tests in the standard laboratory atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative

    13、 humidity. Individual specimens shall not be removed from closed containers until immediately before testing. 3.4.3 Tensile Strength at Break, min 41 MPa (ASTM D638) Elongation, ultimate, min 150% (ASTM D638) 3.4.4 Flexural Modulus, max 1.1 GPa (ASTM D790) 3.4.5 Impact Strength, Izod, min 427 J/m (A

    15、logies, LLC Page 3 of 3 3.5 MOLDED PART 3.5.1 Color Natural or as specified on engineering drawing. 3.5.2 Appearance Shall be uniform in density, texture and finish, free of visible porosity, warpage, heat scorch, checks, cracks and chipped edges. Shall also be free of other contamination. 3.5.3 Reg

    16、rind and/or Blended Material Must meet Q101 Appendix D, or limits as specified on the engineering drawing and/or engineering part specification. 3.5.4 Additional Requirements Specific requirements for physical properties of molded or extruded parts shall be specified on the engineering drawing and/o

    17、r engineering part specification. All critical areas with respect to these properties shall be clearly designated on the engineering drawing. 3.5.5 The following requirements will be used as acceptance criteria for molded parts. The tests indicated will be conducted by Ford Motor Company at its option. . Flow Rate 4 - 7 g/10 min (ASTM D 1238, Condition Q)
