    2、YLENE TEREPHTHALATE (PET), ESF-M4D405-C1 30 % GLASS REINFORCED MOLDING COMPOUND NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE (PET, ESF-M4D405-C2 30 % GLASS REINFORCED MOLDING COMPOUND, SELF-EXTINGUISHING (SE) NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The materials defined by these specifica

    3、tions are glass reinforced thermoplastic polyester resins based on polyethylene terephthalate (PET). 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally for materials used to mold frames for ignition control modules. ESF-M4D405-C1 replaces and is same as ESF-M4D405-C. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 MO

    4、LDING COMPOUND C1 C2 3.1.1 Melting Point, C, min 235 240 (ASTM D 789) 3.1.2 Glass Fiber Content, +/- 2 % by weight 30 31 (ASTM D 2584, 1 h at 666 C or TGA) 3.1.3 Melt Flow Rate, g/10 minutes, max 11.0 8.0 (ASTM D 1238, 280 +/- 0.2 C, 2.16 kg) Dry sample for 1 h at 175 C in circulating air oven and m

    5、aintain at this temperature until immediately before testing. Quickly charge indexer. Charging time not to exceed 1 minute. 3.2 MOLDED TEST SPECIMEN 3.2.1 Preparation of Test Specimens All test specimens shall be injunction molded in accordance with ASTM D 1897. The values of this specification are

    6、based on natural color, injection molded specimens unless otherwise specified on engineering drawing.     7、mosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified.     10、either surface in excess of the above maximum value. 3.3 MOLDED PARTS 3.3.1 Color As specified on engineering drawing.     11、ge, heat scorch, checks, cracks, chipped edges and uneven surfaces. Shall also be free of other contamination.     12、 0.2 C, 2.16 kg) 3.3.6 Additional Requirements Specific requirements for material and/or manufactured parts shall be specified on the Engineering drawing, Engineering parts specification and/or performance specifications. All critical areas with respect to these properties shall be clearly designate

    13、d on the engineering drawing. 3.4 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS Ford Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/or thermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification. The spectra established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard

    14、and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce spectra that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions as those specified on the master spectrum. 3.5 STATISTICAL PROCESS Suppliers must conform to the requirements of Ford Qua

    15、lity System Standard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as described therein is required for material/source approval. Appropriate statistical tools must be used to analyze process/product data so that variation in the final product is continuously reduced. 3.6 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All ma

    16、terials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted.     17、ssing or labeling of the material originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology and the affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes an

    18、d obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineering activity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification are to be submitted with the request. Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are defined

    19、 in Engineering Materials Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by the responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the a

    20、ffected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineering activity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compli

    21、ance with all the requirements of this specification (test results, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of a material will be based on its performance to this specification and on an assessment of suitabili

    22、ty for intended processes and/or applications. Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5.
