The assembly is coate d with an antistickcoating.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used f

    3、or the intakemanifo ld gasket where a material with high compressive strength at mediumtemperatures is required.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 CONSTRUCTIONConsists of a low carbo n steel core bonded equally on each side witha nonasbestos sheet with nitrile rubber binder, inorganic compoundsand cellulose fibers.

    4、 An antistick coating is applied to the gasketassembly.3.1.1 Steel CoreLow carbon steel, thickness as specified on engineeringdrawing.3.1.2 Nonasbestos Sheet and Synthetic Rubber BinderThe nonasbestos sheet w ith a nitrile rubber binder, shall beplied uniformly and bon ded to each side of the steel

    5、core tomeet requirements of the application at the thicknessspecified on the engineering drawing.3.1.3 CoatingsThe assembly shall be coated with heat stable no ncarbonizing,oil and gasoline resist ant film to meet all the requirementsof the application. The coating is applied to the gasketsurfaces a

    12、 discs of 13.5 mm I.D. x 51 mm O.D. metalplates ( maximum thickness 1.57 mm) backed by 12.7 mm steelplates. A 12.7 mm steel bolt is inserted through the hole anda n ut put on it. Tighten the bolt to 79 Nm. Heat theassembly to 150 +/- 2 C for 5 h. Remove and all ow to cool toroom temperature. The spe

    14、l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to

    15、 the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.4 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must b

    16、e used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.5 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any chang

    17、e in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affecte

    18、d Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials a

    19、ddressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approv

    20、al by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort to the specification (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecim ens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.
