SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a tooth drive belt. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material use

    3、d as the timing belt on four cylinder engines. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Pr

    4、oduction Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CONSTRUCTION The belt is constructed of polyamide tooth facing, tension cords of fiberglass and a high temperature polychloroprene compound as the backing. 3.3 RUBBER STOCK CUT FROM BACK OF BELT (ASTM D 3183, thickness 0.89 +/- 0.25 mm) 3.3.1 Original Propert

    10、l. No evidence of surface fractures (or micro-cracks at 2X magnification) on any of the belt faces. 3.4.5 Tensile Strength, min As specified on engineering drawing.     11、 3 Test Method: Test a complete belt by installing it over 2 movable cylinders (each 114 mm in diameter) with the teeth facing outwards. Pull in tension at a strain rate of 25 mm/min. 3.4.6 Fabric Adhesion Strength, min (Rubber to rubber or rubber to glass fiber, if fabric to rubber is not applicabl

Initial 5.3 kN/m width After aging 70 h at 125 C 6.1 kN/m width Test Method: Using a minimum length of drive belt of 150 mm in length and a strain of 50 mm/min, make a test as follows: Separate the fabric on the teeth from the rubber belt at the bond line, by cutting at least a 25 mm length for g

    13、ripping section “A“ in the upper jaws, and section “B“ in the lower jaws of a tensile machine. Maintain the free end, section “C“, as close to horizontal plan as is practical, while tensile pulling in order to obtain the adhesion tensile strength at the bond line. Continue the pull over at least 6 t

    14、eeth recording the maximum load in N for each tooth. The lower of the maximum values is taken as the fabric adhesion strength. 3.4.7 DeMattia Flex Test No cracks or Whole Belt, Teeth Face in. separation (Die C, stroke 32 mm, no strain on part, 300 cycles/min.) As received ESE-M2D235-D2 150,000 cycles After aging 70 h at 125 C ESE-M2D235-D2 30,000 cycles 3.4.8 Source Identification Each part shall have the suppliers identification marks permanently affixed. The markings shall be identical to those shown in the Rubber Manufacturers Association Source Identification Book.
