SCOPE:The material defined by this specification is a moldable, filled,ethylene

    2、 vinyl acetate.2. APPLICATION:This specification was released originally for material used as a soundtransmission barrier on massback carpet systems.3. REQUIREMENTS:3.1 The barrier material must always be bonded 100 percent to anothermaterial to form a composite that would comply with flammabilityre

    3、quirements (Reference: Flammability paragraph 3.15).3.2 STATISTICAL PROCESSSuppliers must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStandard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatistical tools must be used to an

    4、alyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.3 CONDITIONINGAll test values indicated herein are based on materials conditionedin a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for 24 h prior to testing and tested under the samecont

    5、rolled conditions.3.4 COLOR As specified on engineering drawing3.5 THICKNESS As specified on engineering drawing(ASTM D 461, 6.4 mmdiameter foot, 85 g load)3.6 SPECIFIC GRAVITY 2.1 +/- 10 %(ASTM D 792)3.7 WEIGHT As specified on engineering drawing(ASTM D 461)3.8 TENSILE STRENGTH, min(ASTM D 412, Die

    9、 adhesion is unacceptable). Thecomposite shall not burn or transmit a flame across its surface, ata rate of more than 101 mm per min. To demonstrate compliance, thesample size and method of testing shall be in accordance with FLTMBN 24-2.3.16 FLAMMABILITY TEST PROGRAMMaterials, portions of component

    10、s, and composites governed by thisspecification must also comply with the requirements ofES-D3AB-11014-AA.3.17 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISAll samples shall produce spectra or thermograms that correspond tothe reference standard when tested under the same conditions. Theinfrare

    11、d spectra or thermograms established for initial approvalshall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on fileat the designated material laboratory.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION ESB-M5G26-FPage 3 of 33.18 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be e

    12、quivalent inall characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Prior to making any change in the properties, composition,construction, color, processing or labeling of the materialoriginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchanges affect the materials

    13、 ability to meet the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identificationare to be

    14、submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, applyto the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1,unless a different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on theengineering documen

    15、t for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS:Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffected Purchasing, Design and Materia

    16、ls Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory report to the specification (test results,not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecimens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.
