    2、ED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE: The material defined by this specification is a polyvinyl chloride or its copolymer, molding compound. 2. APPLICATION: This specification was released originally for material used for molded grommets and insulators in electrical applications. 3. REQUIREMENT: 3.1 COLOR All

    3、 material colors will be specified on the engineering drawings. 3.2 SPECIFIC GRAVITY, max 1.64 (ASTM D 792) 3.3 TENSILE STRENGTH min 1000 psi (6.9 MPa) (ASTM D 412, Die “C , cured specimen) Elongation 200 - 400% 3.4 HARDNESS - DUROMETER “A“ 45 - 90 (ASTM D 2240) If specific hardness is desired, it s

    4、hall be designated on the engineering drawing with a range of +/- 5 3.5 TEAR RESISTANCE, min 175 lb/in (30.7 kN/m) (ASTM D 624, Die “C“) 3.6 DIELECTRIC STRENGTH, min 100 V/mil (4 kV/mm) (ASTM D 149, cured specimen, min on 0.125 in (3.2 mm) 3.7 CONTACT AND MIGRATION STAINING A section of the producti

    5、on part is placed in direct contact with coated cardboard, leather, rubber, vinyl coated fabric, textiles or painted metal panel, prepared per FLTM BI 3-2, normally used with the material in an assembly. In addition, the formed par

    7、ts shall exhibit no discoloration or loss of texture to greater extent than the master sample. 3.8 RESISTANCE TO FADE (FLTM BO 15-1, 200 h in sunlamp cabinet) Shall fade no more than the master sample on file in the Quality Control and/or Body Materials Laboratory. 3.9 COLD FLEXIBILITY (FLTM BN 2-1,

Changes in formulation or processing shall not be made without prior appr

    10、oval as described in Supplier Procedure I-A. 4. APPROVAL OF SUPPLIERS: Suppliers to this specification must be approved by the affected product engineering office. Procedure for gaining approval of a specific material to a new/existing ES-M specification is contained in Supplier Procedure I-A. Appro

    11、ved new suppliers will be added to the Engineering Materials Approved Source List. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION: The material data included herein is for information only and is not a requirement for the supplier. Stain and fade requirements (para. 3.7 and 3.8) apply to parts which are colored for identification or normally visible.
