SCOPE: The material defined by this specification is a color pigmented, weather resistant polyvinyl chloride compound which has been treated

    3、 or compounded to resist soiling and improve cleanability. This specification offers various durometer hardnesses and a range of physical properties. 2. APPLICATION: This specification was released originally for material used for molded or extruded decorative exterior appliques. Note: ESB-M4D284-C1

    4、 replaces and is the same as ESB-M4D284-C - Type I. ESB-M4D284-C2 replaces and is the same as ESB-M4D284-C - Type II. ESB-M4D284-C3 replaces and is the same as ESB-M4D284-C - Type III. ESB-M4D284-C4 replaces and is the same as ESB-M4D284-C - Type IV. Existing drawings specifying ESB-M4D284-C, Type I

    5、, Type II, Type III, or Type IV, do not require revision to reflect their new classification. 3. REQUIREMENTS: All tests shall be conducted on finished parts where possible; otherwise, tests shall be conducted on molded 150 x 150 x 1.91 +/-, 0.13 mm slabs, made from production stocks. 3.1 PHYSICAL P

    17、nt sunlamp cabinet as described in FLTM BO 15-1) No visible stain produced on the painted panel beyond the boundaries of the test specimen. The raised welting of the painted surfaces in direct contact with the test specimen resulting from this test method is characteristic of plasticized vinyl compo

    18、unds and shall not be cause for rejection. Test Method: Securely attach a test specimen 1.91 x 25 x 50 mm to a 75 x 75 mm painted panel. (The panel shall be painted with current exterior quality light colored enamel per FLTM BI 3-2). Expose the assembly in the fluorescent sunlamp cabinet for 48 h. R

    19、emove the test specimen from the panel and reexpose the painted panel in the fluorescent sunlamp cabinet for 24 h. Remove panel and reexamine for staining. 3.3.5 Mildew Resistance Shall be formulated to prevent mildew growth and shall not exhibit mildew staining. Test Methods: Laboratory, FLTM BN 12

    20、-3 Field Exposure, 1 year Florida exposure per para. 3.2.3 In the event of a dispute, the results obtained from the Florida exposure shall govern. 3.4 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval w

    21、as originally granted. Prior to making any changes in the properties, composition, construction, color, processing, or labeling of the material originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier

    22、shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology, and the affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes and obtain the written approval of the Material Engineering activity. Test data, test samples, and a new code identification are to be submitted with the request. Substance restrictions impos

    23、ed by law, regulations, or Ford apply to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are defined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1, unless a different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineering document for the application.     24、CATION ESB-M4D284-C1/C2/C3/C4 Page 5 of 5 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS: Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by the responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the affected Purcha

    25、sing, Design, and Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineering activity its own laboratory report to the specification (test results, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material Approved Source List.
