    2、 EXTRUSION GRADE ESB-M4D147-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a rigid first quality polyethylene polyolefin, homopolymer or copolymer type. To assure homogeneity, mixtures of different compositions and/or densities cannot be used. 2. APPLICATION T

    3、his specification was released originally for material used to manufacture large vacuum formed components where toughness and resistance to stress cracking and warpage are prime requirements, such as center pillar covers, door trim panels, air conditioner and heater plenum chambers. 3. REQUIREMENTS

    4、3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 RAW MATERIAL 3.4.1 Density, min 0.945 g/cm3(ASTM D 792) 3.4.2 Melt Flow Rate 0.7 - 0.35 g/ (ASTM D 1238) 10 minut

Otherwise equivalent molded material provided by the supplier shall be tested. 3.6.1 Density, min 0.945 g/cm3(ASTM D 792, specimen to be annealed for 1 h at 121 +/- 1 C prior to test) 3.6.2 Melt Flo

    8、w Rate 0.07 - 0.25 g/ (ASTM D 1238) 10 minutes 3.6.3 Tensile Strength, min 20.7 MPa (ASTM D 638, 5% tolerance on grained parts) Elongation at Max Load, min 12.5% (10% tolerance on grained trim parts) 3.6.4 Hardness, Durometer D 60 - 70 (ASTM D 2240) 3.6.5 Stiffness in Flexure, min 586 MPa (ASTM D 74

    10、 Chart for Measuring Transference of Color after 120 SFH exposure. 3.6.7 Wear (interior trim parts) (FLTM BN 108-02, 1000 cycles, 1000 g load, CS No. 10 wheels) The wear pattern and color shall be compatible in appearance with adjacent unabraded area of the wear test specimen. 3.6.8 Scuffing (interi

    11、or trim parts) (FLTM BN 108-04, 10 cycles, 907 g load, B head) The scuff pattern and color shall be compatible in appearance with the adjacent unscuffed area of the test specimen. 3.6.9 Dimensional Stability (interior trim parts) Expansion, max Contraction, max 93 C for 1 h +1.0% 0% Return to room t

    12、emp. 0% -0.3% -29 C for 4 h 0% -1.0% Return to room temp. 0% -0.5% The parts shall be cycled as indicated above and measured after each cycle. In addition to meeting the dimensional requirements, as specified above, the parts shall show no evidence of delamination or bond area separations. Measureme

    13、nts shall be taken in both directions of the part between bench marks of the greatest feasible distance. 3.6.10 Cold Impact No evidence of cracking on any area at 1.1 J of impact (minimum of 3 tests). Test Method: FLTM BI 108-01, except the plastic part and impact apparatus shall be conditioned 4 h

    14、at -29 C.     15、asuring Transference of Color. Tests shall be conducted in accordance with FLTM BN 013-01, except the polyethylene test specimen shall be wiped lightly with M-576, sewing machine oil and the oiled surface placed in contact with the vinyl surface of ESB-M2F126 and 128, etc. series. 3.6.12 Crocking (t

    16、rim parts) (FLTM BN 107-01) The materials shall correspond to rating 5 when compared to the AATCC chart for Measuring Transference of Color. 3.6.13 Heat Embrittlement The materials shall exhibit no evidence of cracking when tested as follows: Test Method: Place the part to be tested in an air circul

    17、ating oven maintained at 102 +/- 3 C for 96 h. Remove the test specimen and allow to cool to 23 +/- 2 C; then run a minimum of three 1.1 J impacts per FLTM BI 108-01. 3.6.14 Fadeometer Deterioration (interior trim parts) (SAE J 1885) Interior trim parts exposed to sunlight in the car assembly shall

    18、exhibit no evidence of cracking when tested as outlined below: Test Method: Typical cross sections of the finished part shall be exposed for 500 SFH per SAE J 1885. The exposed specimens shall then be mounted as used in the car and subjected to a 1.1 J impact as outlined in FLTM BI 108-01. 3.6.15 Sp

    19、ecial Requirements Specific parts (such as door trim panels) shall meet additional requirements as specified on engineering drawings and/or engineering specification sheets. 3.6.16 Flammibility 3.6.16.1 Burn Rate, max 100 mm/minute (FLTM BN 024-02, without the lot sampling plan) In addition, the test specimen shall not exhibit any flashing or sudden flaming on either surface in excess of the above max value.
