、COVERED, POLYVINYL ESB-M3G143-A2 CHLORIDE FOAM CORE 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a sealing tape which has a polyvinyl chloride foam core displaying a skin on all sides covered completely by a butyl sealer. This material has release paper on one side only. 2. APPLICATION Thi

、s specification was released originally for material used in conjunction with mechanical retention, to seal PVC quarter window modules to the painted sheet metal, in the 1984 Mark and Tempo 4-door vehicles. It was also released for sealing the air vent system to the door inner panel in the 1983 Rang

、er. The tape should be under proper compression, as specified by the Sealing Engineering Department, for effective sealing. The materials should be conditioned at 23 +/- 2 C for 24 h prior to application. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part

Subject a minimum of three test assemblies to the environments specified above. Condition the aged assemblies for 24 h at

、 23 +/- 2 C after exposure, prior to pull test. 3.8 STORAGE STABILITY The material shall be stored at temperatures below 41 C away from all sources of heat and sunlight. Heat greatly accelerates aging. Under these storage conditions, the minimum shelf life of the material shall be 6 months. When the

、se materials are stored at temperatures below 23 C, they shall be conditioned at room temperature 24 h prior to application. Adequate conditioning permits the material to obtain its optimum application properties. 3.9 RELEASE PAPER The tape seal shall have a suitable release paper which shall be rea

、dily removed, but shall not pull off in shipping and handling. There shall be no transfer of the release agent to the tape after 6 months of storage at 23 +/- 2 C. 3.10 FUNCTIONAL APPROVAL Material being evaluated for initial approval to this specification shall be subjected to a production trial. F

、unctional trial results should be available to Design and Materials Engineering prior to material approval and release. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 SUBSTRATES 5.1.1 Float Glass:
