SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a blown 100% polyester fiber needled foundation pad of random fiber arrangement. 2. APPLICATION This material was released originally as a padding underlay for 1980 vinyl cover

    3、ed exterior roof applications. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. In addition to the requirements listed herein, the finished assembly must also meet the engineering requirements of ESB-M15P5-A. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRO

    4、DUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 APPEARANCE The padding may be colored by addition of a non staining or non bleeding pigmented dye for purpose of supplier identification. This dye

    5、 shall not interfere with any of the other material requirements listed herein. 3.3 COMPOSITION Fiber 6 den (0.7 tex) (Polyester, 2 in (50 mm) Staple) 50 +/- 5% 15 den (1.7 tex) (Polyester, 2 in (50 mm) Staple) 50 +/- 5% Binder Thermoplastic Resin 100% 3.4 CONSTRUCTION The fibers shall be arranged i

    6、n a random manner, and extend from the top surface to the bottom surface, so that delamination cannot occur at any plane within the thickness of the pad during handling and assembly operations.     7、al Technologies, LLC Page 2 of 3 3.5 BINDER CONTENT, min 50% of the total weight of the pad The binder shall consist of a thermoplastic resin or a polyblend of resins compatible with the landau vinyl material. Test Method . Take three 4 x 4 in (100 x 100 mm) samples (one from the center and one from

    8、 each side, across the roll) and finely chop using a blender or equivalent method. . Place samples in a large tarred weighing bottle and oven dry at 102 +/- 3 C until a constant weight is obtained. Record final sample weight as W1. . Transfer sample to a beaker and add methyl isobutylketone. (Temper

    9、ature 38 +/- 3 C). Use a minimum of 15 weights of solvent to one of padding. . Allow sample to stand for 24 h. Stir occasionally. . Filter solution twice through a No. 80 mesh screen filter or equivalent method. . Oven dry at 102 +/- 2 C to a constant weight. Record final fiber weight as W2. . % Bin

    12、hall not support combustion after being exposed to a standard flame for 30 s at a distance of 1 in (25 mm) from the tip of the needle. 3.12 OBJECTIONABLE CONTAMINANTS (FLTM AN 101-03) No contaminants which might cause padding to vinyl contact stains. 3.13 MILDEW RESISTANCE (FLTM BN 012-03) The mater

    13、ial shall exhibit no less than 1 mm zone of inhibition, no evidence of pink staining, no visible evidence of mildew growth, and shall have no mildew odor after 7 days exposure in a humidity cabinet controlled to 100% relative humidity at 38 C. 3.14 LUMPINESS This padding shall contain no lumps, knot

    14、s, etc. of either fiber or resin large enough to result in a lumpy or bumpy or otherwise unsightly appearance in the finished assembly. Such imperfections shall be cause for rejection of the material. 3.15 FLAMMABILITY, max 4 in (101 mm)/min (FLTM BN 024-02, without the lot sampling plan) In addition, the test specimen shall not exhibit any flashing or sudden flaming on either surface in excess of the above maximum value.
