    2、fication is a styrene modified acrylic resin. 2. APPLICATION: This specification was released originally for material used as an applique on wheel covers, where clarity and good environmental resistance is necessary. 3. REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 To be run on each lot of material 3.1.1 Specific Gravity, min

    3、1.12 g/cm3(ASTM D 792) 3.1.2 Flow Rate 1.9 - 2.9 g/10 min (ASTM D 1238, condition “N“) 3.1.3 Hardness - Rockwell “M“, min 75 3.1.4 Color As specified on engineering drawing 3.2 To be run for initial approval and as specified by Quality Control. Since the above (para 3.1) tests are required on each l

    4、ot, these results will also be included as part of this testing and results reported. 3.2.1 Tensile Strength, min 62 MPa (ASTM D 638) 3.2.2 Elongation at Break, min 2.4% (ASTM D 638) 3.2.3 Deflection Temperature, min 96 C (ASTM D 648, 1820 kPa) Anneal 10 h at 82 C ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION

    5、ESA-M4D396-A Page 2 of 3 3.2.4 Water Absorption, max 0.5% (ASTM D 570) 3.2.5 Haze, max 3.0% (ASTM D 1003) 3.3 FINISHED PART 3.3.1 Heat Resistance Test Method: Condition the parts for 3 h in a mechanical convection oven maintained at 80 +/- 3 C (or as otherwise specified on engineering drawing). Afte

    6、r removal, parts shall show no more than 0.5% shrinkage. There shall be no local shrinkage where the part has been gated, which will interfere with assembly to mating parts or affect its appearance. The part shall not warp to an extent that would affect its use in ultimate assembly. 3.3.2 Luminous T

    7、ransmission, min 90% (ASTM D 1003, 3.2 mm clear, molded stock) 3.3.3 Resistance to Fade, (FLTM BN 1-1, 500 h) There shall be no appreciable change in color. 3.3.4 Accelerated Weathering (FLTM BO 1-1, 400 h) There shall be no appreciable change in color. 3.3.5 Florida Exposure After 12 months exposur

    8、e at 45 facing south in the Miami, Florida area, there shall be no blistering, crazing, or appreciable change in color. Florida exposure shall be conducted for initial certification only. 3.4 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY (IR), EMISSION SPECTROSCOPY (ES), AND THERMOGRAVIMETRIC ANALYSIS (TGA) Ford Motor

    9、 Company, at its option, may conduct IR, ES, and TGA of material/parts supplied to this specification. The spectrum established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at Central Laboratory. All samples shall produce curves that correspond to the refere

    10、nce standard when tested under the same conditions as those specified on the master curve. Changes in formulation or proces

    11、sing shall not be made without prior approval as described in Supplier Procedure I-A. 4. APPROVAL OF SUPPLIERS: Suppliers to this specification must be approved by the affected product engineering office. Procedure for gaining approval of a specific material to a new/existing ES-M specification is contained in Supplier Procedure I-A. Approved new suppliers will be added to the Engineering Materials Approved Source List.
