    2、TRANSPARENT MOLDING COMPOUND ESA-M4D333-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a transparent polyvinyl chloride molding compound. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used to manufacture injection molded grommets and c

    3、onnectors. 3. REQUIREMENTS All tests shall be conducted on molded parts where possible otherwise, tests shall be conducted on molded 6 x 6 x 0.075 +/- 0.005 in (152 x 152 x 1.90 +/- 0.13 mm) slabs, made from production stocks. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and

    4、 part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 PHYSICAL PROPERTIES 3.1.1 Color Tint As specified on engineering drawing 3.1.2 Specific Gravity, max 1.30 (ASTM D 792) 3.1.3 Hardness - Durometer “A“ 55 - 65 (ASTM D 2240, instantaneous

    5、reading) 3.1.4 Tensile Strength, min 1,000 psi (6.9 MPa) (ASTM D 412, Die “C“) 3.1.5 Elongation, min 350% (ASTM D 412, Die “C“) 3.1.6 Tear Strength, min 125 lb/in (22 kN/m) (ASTM D 624, Die “C“) 3.1.7 Cold Flexibility at -40 +/- 1 C No cracking (FLTM BN 102-01, 1 x 6 in (25 x 152 mm) sample) ENGINEE

    7、on either surface in excess of the above maximum value. 3.2 HEAT RESISTANCE Test Method: Expose a minimum of three 0.075 x 1 x 2 in (1.90 x 25 x 51 mm) samples for 7 days at 102 +/- 1 C for each test listed in para. 3.2.1 to 3.2.3. Cool to 22 +/- 2 C before conducting the indicated tests. Weight cha

    8、nge shall be reported as the % change in weight measured before and after heat exposure. 3.2.1 Weight Change, max 4.0% 3.2.2 180 Bend Test No cracks when material is bent back against itself. 3.2.3 Hardness - Durometer “A“, +/- 10 change, max (ASTM D 2240, instantaneous reading) 3.3 FOGGING (SAE J 1756) Light Transmission, min 95 3.4 HAZE, max 15% (ASTM D 1003, specimen thickness 0.075 in (1.90 mm)
