、ble from and replaceable in the connector. A specific terminus may be used in a wide variety of connector styles (0.g. circular, rectangular, rack and panel, hybrid, etc.) which may be qualified under other specification systems (e.g. specifications for electrical connectors). 1.3.2 termlnus set: Th

、e two mateable termini. Generally, a set consists of a terminus pin and a terminus socket. 1.3.3 mechanically intermateable termlni: Termini which are capable of being mechani- cally mated. Performance or intermountability are not requirements for intermateability. - E II - - - 1.3.4 Interchangeable

、on is prescribed by the following boundary limits. Structurally similar components shall: - have identical mating face dimensions; - be manufactured from essentially the same materials; - be manufactured to essentially the same design; - be manufactured utilizing essentially the same processes and m

、ethods; - utilize the same fibre retention technology, cable retention technology, optical coupling technique, and alignment technique (see 2.2.3). Structurally similar components may: - accept various fibre sizes; - accept various cable sires. 3.3 Qualification approval procedures Qualification app

、roval testing is conducted according to one of the two following procedures: the fixed sample procedure or the lot-by-lot plus periodic procedure. The detail specification shall specify which procedure applies. 3.3.1 Fixed sample procedure Qualification approval by the fixed sample procedure is granted when the product success- fully meets 11.3.1 a) of IEC QC 001002. 3.3.2 Lot-by-lot and periodic procedures Qualification approval by the tot-by-lot plus periodic procedure is granted when the product successfully meets 11.3.1 b) of IEC QC 001002. * rn * STD-BSI BS EN
