    10、verage maximum height of profile (RZ) S L V Standard 14 Low profile 10 Very low profile 5 The ten points average height of irregularities corresponds to the term R, of IS0 4287-1 and is measured by the test method for R, described in future IEC 1189-2 1. 3.3 Bond enhancing treatment and passivation

    11、A chemical or electrochemical surface treatment shall be applied to the copper foil to increase the bonding strength to the substrate. Such treatment may be applied to one or both sides. In case of one side treatment on electrodeposited copper foil it shall be applied to the rough side of the foil.

    12、A chemical passivation shall be applied to bot:$ sides of the foil to increase its shelf life. 3.4 Complete designation For the designation of copper foils according to this specification the following code shall be used: At present at the stage of document 52/518/CDV (in preparation, see annex B).

    15、ass per unit area and thickness The primary measure of quantity of copper foil shall be the mass per unit area, together with applicable tolerances. Thicknesses of copper foil corresponding to specified values of mass per unit area shall be regarded as given for information only. Table 3 - Mass per

    16、unit area and thickness Mass per unit area shall be determined by the test method given in A.2.1. Direct thickness measurements on microsections result in incorrect values due to the irregularities caused by the treatment roughness.     18、rity (with silver content regarded as copper): Type E: 99,8 mass YO copper; Type R: 99,9 mass % copper. The copper content shall be determined after removal of the surface treatment or contamination by the test method given in A.2.2. 6 Electrical properties The minimum conductivity of copper foils i

    19、s a percentage of that of the International Annealed Copper Standard (IACS) at 20 OC as given in table 4 and 5; 100 % corresponds to 0,5800 x 1 Oe a-l m-l minimum electrical conductivity or 1,7241 x 1 O-8 am maximum resistivity. The maximum specimen resistance of type E copper foils of different mas

    20、s per unit area, when measured in accordance with the test method No. 2E12 described in future IEC 1189-2 *), shall have the values given in table 4.     23、ula: where Rmax is the maximum specimen resistance (n); rmax is the maximum resistivity (f2m); p is the density of copper = 8,93 x 106 g/m3; I is the gauge length of the specimen (m); w is the width of the specimen (m); m is the mass per unit area (g/m2)(minimum value according to table 9). 7 Tensil

    24、e properties Both in longitudinal direction (machine direction) and in transversal direction of the copper foils the tensile properties given in table 6 shall apply. Tensile strength and elongation shall be determined by the test method given in A.2.3. Page 8 I EN 61249-5-1 : 1996 I 8 Peel strength

    25、The strength required to.peel the copper foil from the resin of the base material shall meet the values listed in the relevant specification of IEC 249 3) or shall be as agreed upon between purchaser and supplier. Peel strength shall be determined in accordance with one of the following test methods

    26、 described in future IEC 1189-2 4): 2M06, 2M07, 2M13, 2M14, 2M15, 2M16 and 2M17. The test specimen shall be prepared from a copper foil sample of sufficient dimensions bonded to prepregs, reinforced resin sheets or adhesive-coated dielectric films under appropriate conditions. 9 Surface finish Both

    27、sides of type E and type Fi copper foils shall be substantially free from resin tears, wrinkles, dirt, oil, corrosion or corrosion products, salts, grease, finger-prints or other blemishes which would adversely affect the quality of the copper-clad material to be made from the copper foil. Copper fo

    28、il surfaces shall be free from regularly spaced and repeating patterns of pits and dents. There shall be no inclusions greater than 2,5 pm. Frequency and size of pinholes and pores shall be as given in table 7. The total area of all pinholes in an area of 0,5 m2 shall not exceed 0,012 mm2. The numbe

    29、r of pores or pinholes shall be determined by the test method given in A.2.4. 9.1 Smooth side (shiny side) There shall be no scratches present on the smooth side of types E and R copper foils of a depth greater than 3,5 pm. The depth of surface roughness R, in longitudinal and transverse direction s

    30、hall not exceed 3,5 pm.     34、5 5 610 5 or as agreed 4 or as agreed 3 O O 9.2 Rough side (treatment side) The surface treatment on the rough side of types E and R copper foils shall be substantially uniform in colour and intensity within a roll or production lot and shall be sufficiently adherent to withstand normal handling dur

    35、ing the manufacturing processes for laminates and printed boards. After removal by etching of the copper foil laminated to base material no more than traces of the treatment shall be left on the base material. No measurable changes in the properties of the laminate caused by the treatment shall occu

    36、r. A certain disuniformity in colour of the treatment is allowed provided that there is no difference in properties of the copper-clad laminate between the areas showing the different colours of the treatment. 1 O Dimensions and tolerances 1 O. 1 Copper foil supplied in rolls The length and width of

    37、 the rolls shall be as ordered. For the length of the rolls a tolerance of “0 % is permissible. For the width of the rolls the tolerances given in table 8 shall apply.     38、er 600 I In any roll, there shall be no more than three splices and each of them shall be plainly indicated by a durable marker which extends approximately 5 mm beyond either end of the roll.     39、llowable size of pinholes shall be indicated by a flag, or the section containing the hole shall be removed with the two parts properly spliced and with the bonding join flagged. Copper foil supplied in rolls shall be evenly wound on cores of size and material agreed on between purchaser and supplie

    40、r. Telescoping shall not exceed 12 mm from the core to the outer layer of the roll. 10.2 Copper foil supplied in sheets or cut panels The length and width of the sheets (cut panels) shall be as ordered. The tolerances shall be subject to agreement between purchaser and supplier. 11 Packaging and mar

    41、king 1 1.1 Copper foil supplied in rolls Copper foil rolls shall be individually sealed in a waterproof material, so that the properties of the copper foil remain within the given requireme,nts for a period of 90 days after shipment. The sealed rolls shall be individually packed into durable cases.

    42、11.2 Copper foil supplied in sheets or cut panels Copper foil sheets (cut panels) shall be sealed in a lubricant-free polymer film, so that the properties remain within the given requirements for a period of 90 days after shipment. The sealed sheets shall be placed on a suitable sturdy and smooth ba

    43、se and shall be covered with a capping material of comparable stability and smoothness. The sheet content of the package shall be agreed between purchaser and supplier. 11.3 Marking of packages Each package or case shall be marked with the following information: - manufacturer; - manufacturers lot n

    44、umber - type of copper foil; - information about surface profile and treatment; - nominal thickness (mass per unit area); - dimension (length and width of rolls or sheets); - annealing condition (only type R2); - number of sheets or cut panels (if supplied as such); - net mass of copper foil. Other

    45、marking, such as the manufacturers lot number, the purchasers order number and order date, the date of shipment or similar details, may also be included as agreed between purchaser and supplier.     46、pling and test methods A.l Sampling One sample from each lot of five rolls or less shall be cut of (23 f 05) m from the free end with the free end of the sample marked for future identification. A.2 Test methods A.2.1 Mass per unit area A.2.1.1 Test specimens A minimum of three specimens shall be us

    47、ed. The specimens shall be cut from the sample length, one specimen adjacent to the centre line and each of the other two specimens adjacent to each edge. The specimens shall be cut oversize sufficiently to permit accurate final cutting of either circular disks of (113 0,25) mm diameter or squares o

    48、f (100 * 0,25) mm side length. A.2.1.2 Test apparatus and material The following apparatus and materials shall be used: - a balance having a resolution of 10 mg; - a cutter suitable for cutting copper foil. A.2.1.3 Procedure Each of the three specimens comprising a set shall be weighed on the balanc

    49、e, and the mass recorded to the nearest 10 mg. The average mass of the specimens shall be calculated and shall fall within the range given in table 9.
