    2、onal foreword This British Standard is the UK implementation of EN 61217:1996+A2:2008. It is identical with IEC 61217:1996, incorporating amendment 2:2007. It supersedes BS EN 61217:1996+A1:2001 which will be withdrawn on 1 February 2011. The start and finish of text introduced or altered by amendme

    3、nt is indicated in the text by tags. Tags indicating changes to IEC text carry the number of the IEC amendment. For example, text altered by IEC amendment 1 is indicated by !“. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted by Technical Committee CH/62, Electromedical equipment in medical pra

    4、ctice, to Subcommittee CH/62/3, Equipment for radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and radiation dosimetry. A list of organizations represented on this subcommittee can be obtained on request to its secretary. A Rationale for the changes in the IEC scale is given in Annex C. It is considered that a knowle

    5、dge of the reasons for the changes will not only facilitate the proper application of the standard, but will expedite any subsequent revision. This annex does not form a normative part of the standard. Textual errors. When implementing the English language version of EN 61217 as the national standar

    6、d, the textual errors listed below were discovered. They have been reported to the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) in a proposal to amend the text of the European Standard. In Figure 16i, the entry in the column headed Edge X1 against element 06 should read “05,5” a

    7、nd not “05,0”. In the row in Figure 16k, the second “05” should be “06”. In Figure 16k the column headings “Size FX”, “Edge X1” and “Edge X2” should be “Size FY”, “Edge Y1” and “Edge Y2” respectively. In Figure 16k, the entry in the column headed Edge Y2 against element 06 should read “+5,5” and not

    48、on RADIOTHERAPY is performed in medical centres where a variety of EQUIPMENT from different MANUFACTURERS is usually concentrated in the radiotherapy department. In order to plan and simulate the treatment, set up the PATIENT and direct the RADIATION BEAM, such EQUIPMENT can be put in different angular and linear positions and, in the case of MOVING BEAM RADIOTHERAPY, can be rotated and translated during the IRRADIATION OF THE PATIENT.
