It is

    2、 derived from IEC 60598-2-18:1993, incorporating amendment 1:2011 and corrigendum March 2013. It supersedes BS EN 60598-2-18:1994, which will be withdrawn on 18 January 2015. The CENELEC common modifications have been implemented at the appropriate places in the text. The start and finish of each co

    3、mmon modification is indicated in the text by tags . Parts of the original IEC text that have been modified by CENELEC have been quoted in National annex NA. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted by Technical Committee CPL/34, Lamps and Related Equipment, to Subcommittee, CPL/34/4, L

    4、uminaires. A list of organizations represented on this subcommittee can be obtained on request to its secretary. This publication does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users are responsible for its correct application. Compliance with a British Standard cannot confe

    24、fountains, paddling pools, and garden pools NOTEElectrical installation rules for swimming pools are given in IEC364-7-702: Electrical installations of buildings Part7: Requirements for special installations or locations Section702: Swimming pools. This section does not cover luminaires not in conta

    25、ct with the water (e.g.mounted behind a glass panel which is separate from the luminaire) or hand-held or portable luminaires. It is to be read in conjunction with those sections of Part1 to which reference is made. 18.2 General test requirements The provisions of Section Zero of IEC598-1 apply. The

    26、 tests described in each appropriate section of Part1 shall be carried out in the order listed in this section of Part2; reference to other sections of Part1 should be made as necessary. 18.3 Definitions For the purposes of this section the definitions of Section1 of IEC598-1 apply. 18.4 Classificat

    27、ion of luminaires Luminaires shall be classified in accordance with the provisions of Section2 of IEC598-1 together with the requirements of sub-clauses18.4.1 to18.4.3. 18.4.1 Luminaires shall be ClassIII for protection against electric shock and shall have external and internal circuits which opera

    28、te on voltages not exceeding 12 V AC or 30 V DC ripple free. 18.4.2 Luminaires shall be classified according to the degree of protection against the ingress of moisture and dust as follows: 18.4.2.1 For those parts of luminaires which are in contact with the water of the pool, fountain, etc., the cl

    29、assification shall be pressure watertight(IPX8). 18.4.2.2 For those parts of luminaires which are not in contact with the water of the pool, fountain, etc., the classification shall be at least dustproof and splashproof(IP54). 18.4.3 Luminaires shall be classified according to the manner of mounting

    30、, lamp changing and connection to the supply as follows: 18.4.3.1 Category A. Luminaires for which connection to the supply and replacement of lamps takes place from the side of the luminaire which is not in contact with the water. 18.4.3.2 Category B. Luminaires for which replacement of lamps takes

    31、 place from the side of the luminaires in contact with the water but after the water of the pool has been partially or completely drained. 18.4.3.3 Category C. Luminaires which are completely removed from the water for replacement of lamps. 18.5 Marking The provisions of Section3 of IEC598-1 apply t

    32、ogether with the requirements of subclauses18.5.1 to18.5.4. 18.5.1 Luminaires intended only for use in water shall be marked: “For use only when immersed in water” 18.5.2 Luminaires intended for use with safety isolating transformers shall be marked: “For operation only with safety isolating transfo

    33、rmer” according to IEC 61558 series The output of the transformer (in voltamperes) shall be given on the luminaire or in the installation leaflet supplied with the luminaire. 18.5.3 Luminaires shall be supplied with the installation instructions firmly attached to the luminaire. These instructions s

    34、hall detail all information necessary for mounting, connecting to the supply, operation and maintenance of the luminaire. 18.5.4 In the instruction leaflet supplied with the luminaire, the manufacturer shall provide advice on the mounting of the luminaire with particular regard to corrosion, for exa

    35、mple aluminium and its alloys in contact with concrete or similar materials and the electro-chemical action of dissimilar metals. In providing information for the correct installation of luminaires, the manufacturer shall take account of the requirements of IEC364-7-702. Symbol: 1 BS EN 60598-2-18:1

    36、994+A1:2012 EN60598-2-18:1994+A1:2012 (E)18.6 Construction The provisions of Section4 of IEC598-1 apply together with the requirements of subclauses18.6.1 and18.6.2 18.6.1 Luminaires shall be subjected to a test for mechanical strength as follows: Those parts of the luminaire, including protective g

    37、lasses, which are in contact with the water in normal use shall be subjected to an impact test with an impact energy of0,7Nm in the direction of the water pressure. The test shall be carried out in free air. After this test the sample shall show no unacceptable damage (see Part1, subclause4.13). 18.

    38、6.2 Luminaires shall be subjected to a corrosion test as follows: Those parts of the luminaire which are in contact with water in normal use shall be immersed in artificial sea water at a temperature of(25 2)C for a period of14 days. After this treatment the parts shall show no signs of corrosion or

    39、 roughening of their surfaces. Traces of corrosion removable by rubbing shall be ignored. Artificial sea water is made as follows: Solution A 28,0gNaCl 5,0gMgCl 2 6H 2 O 2,4gCaCl 2 H 2 O dissolved in885ml of distilled water. Solution B 7,0gMgSO 4 7H 2 O 0,2gNaHCO 3 dissolved in100ml of distilled wat

    40、er. Solution B is added to solution A slowly and well mixed. The mixture is allowed to stand for24h and is then filtered. Finally the pH value of the mixture is adjusted to between7 and8 by adding additional sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO 3 ). It is convenient to pass air bubbles through the mixture duri

    41、ng the stabilization of the pH value. The materials of the test device shall be such that they have no influence on the results of the test. 18.7 Creepage distances and clearances The provisions of Section11 of IEC598-1 apply. 18.8 Provisions for earthing The provisions of Section7 of IEC598-1 do no

    42、t apply. The provisions of Sections14 and 15 of IEC598-1 apply together with the requirements of subclause18.9.1. 18.9.1 Terminals for supply connection shall allow the connection of conductors having nominal cross-sectional areas1,5mm 2up to and including4,0mm 2 . 18.10 External and internal wiring

    43、 The provisions of Section5 of IEC598-1 apply together with the requirements of subclauses18.10.1 to18.10.5. 18.10.1 Connecting leads (tails) are not permitted. 18.10.2 Switches in flexible cables or cords are not permitted. 18.10.4 Category B luminaires (see18.4.3.2) shall be provided with a non-de

    44、tachable flexible cable or cord at least equivalent in mechanical and electrical properties to cords of the type HO5RNF. 18.10.5 For Category C luminaires (see18.4.3.3), any non-detachable flexible cable or cord provided, shall have mechanical and electrical properties at least equivalent to cords o

    45、f the type HO5RNF. 18.11 Protection against electric shock The provisions of Section8 of IEC598-1 apply. 18.12 Endurance tests and thermal tests The provisions of Section12 of IEC598-1 apply together with the requirements of18.12.1. Luminaires with an IP classification greater thanIP20 shall be subj

    46、ected to the relevant tests of clauses12.4, 12.5 and12.6 of Section12 of IEC598-1 after the test(s) of clause9.2 but before the test(s) of clause9.3 of Section9 of IEC598-1 specified in clause18.13 of this Section of IEC598-2. 18.12.1 For the endurance tests and thermal tests of Section12 of IEC598-

    47、1 the luminaire shall be mounted (as far as possible) as for normal use in accordance with the instructions provided by the manufacturer. If the orientation of the luminaire can be varied, that orientation which gives the most unfavourable temperatures shall be chosen. 18.9 Terminals 18.10.3 The nom

    48、inal cross-sectional area of the conductors of external cables and cords, fixed to the luminaire, shall be not less than 1,0 mm In case of multi wire cable, of three or more conductors, used in luminaires used in circuits 2 A, the cross-sectional area of each conductor may be reduced if the sum of t
