    25、ents.Itisimportant toestablishwhyaseparatorsystemisneededandwhatspecificfunctionitisexpectedtofulfilbeforeselectingthe appropriatesizeandtypeofinstallation. Generally,separatorsystemsareinstalledforoneormoreofthefollowingreasons: a) totreatwastewater(tradeeffluent)fromindustrialprocesses,vehiclewash

    26、ing,cleansingofoilcoveredparts orothersources,e.g.petrolstationforecourts; b) totreatoilcontaminatedrainwater(runoff)fromimperviousareas,e.g.carparks,roads,factoryyardareas; c) toretainanyspillageoflightliquidandtoprotectthesurroundingarea.
