Themachineryandtheextendtowhichhazards,hazardoussituationsandeventsarecoveredareindicatedinthe scopeofthisdocument WhenprovisionsofthistypeCstandardaredifferentfromthosewhicharestatedintypeAorBstandards,the provi
21、sionsofthistypeCstandardtakeprecedenceovertheprovisionsoftheotherstandards,formachinesthat havebeendesignedandbuiltaccordingtotheprovisionsofthistypeCstandard. 1Scope 1.1 ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiessafetyrequirementswhichshallbemettominimizethehazardslistedin clause4thatmayoccurduringtheassembly,u
22、se,maintenance,repair,decommissioning,disassemblyand disposalofshearerloadersandploughsystemswhenoperatedinaccordancewiththemanufacturers requirementsinundergroundmining. Themachinesworkwithtoolsforcuttingmineralssuchascoal,ore,saltandsurroundingrock,atafixedorvariable heightandareguidedonarmouredfa
23、ceconveyorsortheirattachments.Shearerloadershavebuiltinhaulage systems.Theymaybedirectlyoperatedbyoneormoredriversorberemotelyorprogramcontrolled.Plough systemsareremotelycontrolled.Wirelessremotecontrolsystemsofshearerloadersareusedintheimmediate environmentofthemachines. 1.2 ThisEuropeanStandarddo
24、esnotcoveranyhazardsresultingfromtheelectricalequipmentassociatedwith themachine.Itdoesnotcontainanyrequirementsrelatingtodustsuppressionorfiredamphazards.Hazardsdue tonoisearealsoexcludedfromthisstandard,butaseparatestandardisinpreparationwherehazardsduetonoise willbeaddressed. NOTE Onlyasmallamoun
25、tofthenoiseemittedatthepointofuseofshearerloadersandploughsystemsisgeneratedby themachinesthemselves.Thenoiselevelisaffectedmorebythebreakingmineralandtheconveyors.Dustisgeneratednot onlybythemodeofoperationofthemachines,butalsobythematerialtobeextracted,theenvironment,theroofsupportand theconveyor.
26、Forexample,equippingthemachinewithawaterspraymaynotcompletelyeliminatethehazardonitsown. Itdoesnotcoverfaceconveyors,spillplatesandauxiliarydevicessuchaslasersetc. Itisintendedformanufacturersproducingandmarketingcompletemachines,andformanufacturersassembling machinesorpartsofmachinesfromdifferentor
