Themodificationsare: Thedeflectionofthesocketisnowpermittedtobegreaterthanspecifiedifbydeflectingthespigottothe specifiedamountthesocket,withoutapplyingloadtoit,isdeflectedtomorethanspecified.Thereason isthatexperiencewithtestingla

    16、rgediameterpipesinaccordancewiththe1996versionhasshownthat forsomepipedesignsadeflectionof10%ofthespigotresultedinadeflectionlargerthan5%ofthe socketwithoutapplyinganyloadtoit.Thisisthemajorreasonfortherevision. Asupportfortheprofilesunderthedeflectiondevice,seeFigure2,arespecifiedincaseswheretherei

    17、s ariskthattheprofilesaredeflectedtoomuchwhendeflectingthespigotorsocket. Figure4hasbeenaddedtoclarifythedescriptionofthedeflectiondevices.     20、dtheUnitedKingdom.EN1277:2003(E) 3 1Scope ThisEuropeanstandardspecifiesthreebasictestpressuresfordeterminingtheleaktightnessofelastomeric sealingringtypejointsforburiedthermoplasticsnonpressurepipingsystems. Unlessotherwisespecifiedinthereferringstandard,themethodspressuresusedarethefollowing: p 1 :

    21、internalnegativeairpressure(partialvacuum); p 2 :alowinternalhydrostaticpressure; p 3 :ahigherinternalhydrostaticpressure. Italsodescribesfourtestconditionsunderwhichthetestcanbeexecuted,asfollows: A: withoutanyadditionaldiametricorangulardeflection; B: withdiametricdeflection; C: withangulardeflect

Theseconditionscanbeappliedindividuallyorincombination.Theapplicableselectionofthemethod(s) andthecondition(s)shouldbespecifiedinthereferringstandard. 2Principle Atestpieceassembledfrompipesand/orfittingsissubjectedtoaspecificinitialinternalnega
